Buff Guns, No Nerfs
Please Saber, do not do an Arrowhead and start nerfing weapons. the Purpose of this game is to kill stuff, weapons that function well are fun, however there are many guns that feel they lack damage output for example the Bolter guns are actually awful and yet their meant to be loaded with explosive shells. Enemies are too sponger on harder difficulty.

What im saying here is, buff the weapons that are lacking, but never NERF, because theyn u end up creating a formula where no weapon is fun to use cause their all trash, Helldivers 2 has this issue. If weapons arent fun and don't kill, then whats the point in it being an available tool/option for the player. A series of buffs need carried out for weapons please.

Chaos wouldn't even agree to nerfing guns, not even Tzeentch.

Never nerf Is a terrible philosophy that's caught on in modern gaming because of developers over nerfing.

There's not really anything in the PvE other than the over heal that needs a nerf in this particular game. But the entire life recovery system needs a tune up in conjunction with that nerf. Something like 50% longer duration of the grey life and 20% more recovered base for all weapons at the same time as they fix the bug.

Obviously a ton of weapons need buffs. The assault's a totally dead class ATM although weapon buffs alone might help that a lot.

But never nerf Is an over reaction.

Your example is funny because that's something all the guns should be able to do, as there is currently no way to mitigate the ranged damage spam on chaos missions, which is why literally everyone hates them. Doing nothing particularly wrong, I'll lose all my health flawlessly dodging and parrying a horde of dozens of enemies in melee, because the contested health mechanic is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and there is no way to stop the pew pew spam short of engaging rubric marines in melee. Even that isn't enough for the flamethrower marines, as they'll delete most or all of your armor and healthbar while you're approaching them, and while you hit them several times before they stagger and actually stop, by which point you're nearly dead and your contested health has completely evaporated.

No, not really. Do you have problems understanding this concept?

Not with anything non-plasma you haven't. They block everything from a bolter. Las and Plasma go through, as do grenades and most melee attacks, but the Heavy Bolter does sweet FA, blocked by a dude half my height with a tinpot shield...

Dont do an Arrowhead, don't kill your game
they do need to balance around pvp but there are ways to balance pvp without nerfing pve the question is if the devs do that or not

Yes, that comparison is right, but it doesnt mean that "buff guns = lower enemy health".

Easy example:

Buff guns

Enemy has 20 hp; gun does 2 damage per bullet; melee does 5 damage per swing.

Gun needs 10 bullets, melee needs 4 swings.

Gun is buffed to 4 damage per bullet and thus only needs 5 bullets now. Thats it. That was the change.

Lower enemy Health

Enemy has 20 hp; gun does 2 damage per bullet; melee does 5 damage per swing.

Gun needs 10 bullets, melee needs 4 swings.

Enemy health is lowered to 10 hp.

Gun now needs 5 bullets and melee now needs 2 swings.

they do need to balance around pvp but there are ways to balance pvp without nerfing pve the question is if the devs do that or not
They already have - the weapons are clearly defined separately given that perks do not apply in PvE.
I agree with you, I also refuse to use Melta and Plasma wpns, I only play bolters cause I need some real BANG with my guns.

That being said I have most of my weapons upgraded to relic and still I fell like enemies take too many fcking bullets, even to the head, I mostly play on AVERAGE with RELIC wpns and MAX LVL class, I still need multiple mags to the head for majoris enemies and it just feels WRONG and underpowered

Perhaps, but he still has a point. Thing is even if you nerf Melta it will perform its job. Tactical/Heavy will perhaps pick other guns, but i.e. of Vanguard other weapons currently suck much more than Melta would even after nerfs and fixes most probably. Since his only weakness really is swarm clearing, and Melta should remain good at this otherwise what is the point of that gun? Your weapon choices should either push your main strength beyond what others can reach, or patch up your weaknesses after all.

But consider Heavy. Heavy Bolter. The iconic suppression high calibre gun... ...which entire firepower is not enough to break through 5 demons with shields running at you while you full auto. Which is completely ridiculous. The class that should be mowing down swarms literally can't handle a few small guys at times.

As a Vanguard Melta main, I can agree - it needs a fix, and even nerf is fine since it will not hurt its functionality all that much. The most reasonable nerf to it really I feel is removing the Majoris stagger every. Single. Shot. But other weapons require significant buffs so that at least SOME of them can feel like they have their identity rather than just varying values of dmg and accuracy on their bullets. Make Heavy Bolter break through shields and i.e. Majoris blocks. Make Plasma weapon charged shots burn enemies over time or lower their damage resistance. Put some creativity into this other than pure numbers, so that weapon gearsets actually start having some meaning at least.
Finally a decent reply. yes that is exactly what im getting at. I main Vanguard aswell, i use the first gun with the 3 burst round. It kinda does the job but it has gotten to the point where even though im leveling it up to a higher tier... it doesnt feel like its increasing much in damage, it still takes 4-5 shots to the head to put a Majoris into execution mode in Substantial difficulty. I mainly try to get rid of the ranged enemy majoris units with my main weapon. I have no issue with the amount of ammo, thats not the issue, just....damage output feels off. i have tried other weapons with other classes aswell.

I see alot of people say to use Melta, but, i dnt really want to as im trying to play a strength to help my team. I dont use melta so i cant say for sure how it performs

That's fair take. But on the other hand being able to completely disable them from the fight just because they're grouped together is also far from optimal gameplay. I do agree, the pressure these guys put out on Substantial/Ruthless when in groups is insane and extremely difficult to handle. Especially if you want to position yourself in a safe spot away from them only for 2 of them to randomly decide to teleport behind you and start blasting + flaming you down immediately after.

NGL. I miss SM1 self heals on execution. The armor gets stripped by a single attack from Tzaangor on Ruthless so... if for any reason you're knocked down (what can happen when you fail to dodge Chaos Marine teleport into kick combo) you take 90% health that turns into contested and before you get up to start fighting for it, 50% of it is gone already.

I would probably agree indeed that it's contested health mechanic that is causing everyone so many issues, simply because sometimes you just CANNOT fight for your health back because if you do stand your ground and start shooting, you'll just get executed while under pressure.
This weapon exceeds braindead play to a level I've never seen before in a Horde shooter game, can't even play that ♥♥♥♥ to not look like a casual.
