Are Blood Ravens related to Thousand Sons?
I heard these somewhere and am not a lore veteran to be sure. They are one of the chapters whose Gene-seed origin is unknown. Attempts to figure it out have failed so miserably that it's not hard to to guess it's been intentionally hidden by the inquisition or something.

Someone said their lust for knowledge and war cries are similar to the Thousand Sons, so it might be that their Gene-seed was manipulated to reduce psychic powers to remove the mutation problem. They also have a lot of librarians compared to other chapters.

Its not 100% confirmed, its just massively speculated or some hints have been put in the Stories of Dawn of War. Like that Captain Thule destroyed Artefacts of the Blood Ravens in Dawn of War Dark Crusade and refuse to speak about it, what these contains.
What speaks for this relationship with the Thousand Sons is their unusual high numbers of Librarians in their Chapter and their lust for knowledge. Which are the typical indication for the Gene-seed of Magnus.

It has been speculated that some of the chapter founding's used the heretic legion gene seed with the Blood Ravens being one of them and some of the lore can be interpreted as pointing to the Blood Ravens being a successor chapter to the Thousand Sons

Their Primarch is MAGNUS that is why they have many librarians and pursue knowledge

It was never out and out confirmed but it is plausible since some chapters are descended from Loyalist members of Traitor Legions. The Minotaurs, for example, were just recently confirmed by their writer-in-charge as being descended from Perturabo's Iron Warriors, particularly from a loyalist named Morax.

That said, it could just be that their gene seed was engineered to have a higher incidence of pyskers. Its not unheard of for the High Lords to tamper and admix gene seeds to emphasize certain traits when founding a new chapter. Sometimes it pays off, like the Sons of Antaeus who are tankier than most marines, and other times it goes horribly horribly wrong, like the Firehawks who spontaneously explode.
