1. the collision on objects is bugged
2. Use the HBR at max distance and stay against the doors on either side, do not attempt to navigate the sides cause ♥♥♥♥ is broken
3. The SkitterLeap hitbox is indeed broken, always dodge to side at the last second
4. Don't bother with counterfire, because it animation locks you and the extra damage isn't worth even with the Melta
5. When he's down to 1/16th life, melee him so you can trigger the execution immediately, this is will auto kill any gaunts.

So basically you did what every strategy I read on this fight told you not to do, melee him?
That's pretty amazing.
The carnifex seems to have a pretty clear one two swing pattern that you just parry?
Also does parrying cancel your current melee swing? so you can just hack and slash?
And while that fight is pretty tough, the battle afterwards is gonna be even harder.
I love this game but f that fight.
I believe his hitboxes are indeed broken insofar as perfect dodging purposes are required. If I ever got that targeting reticle to show, it felt like it was on accident. This was in stark contrast to the Chaos Dred.
Parry works. Highly effective with the power sword. Just be sure to always attack his flank, never his front, lest he hit you with his spine attack. When he's committed to his spinal attack, hit him with the paused delay combo.
Overall, a fun fight to practice your inner Sekiro, but right now some of it is also just jank from heavy lag that church fight can introduce to one's machine, given all the destructable objects in that room. After an hour of resetting, I noticed the game had started to use 98 gigs of ram! Probably caching issues for all the objects in that room needing to be restored at a moment's notice.
Set the dynamic resolution to "Performance" mode for that fight. It'll help you stabilize the frames.
Hopefully, they'll patch the hit boxes to its orange attacks. There were definitely many instances where it was no where near me but I still took heavy damage; or instances where I swear to God-Emperor I earned a perfect dodge, only to get nothing.
Fun fight. The kind of fight I want to master. It feels good to slay that beast. In my attempts to do so however...yeah there's definitely room to fine tune.
