bring back old school space marines
i know many people playing this game are kinda new or completly new to warhammer and for them primaris marines are just as normal as terminators but for those who have been fans of the universe for a long time like me primaris space marines are one of the most stupidest changes ever made in 40k.

i also know that the devs probably didnt have a choice because GW told them they had to use primaris marines but still.

its just sad that they basically killed off the awesome old school space marines and made them into a blant, tacticool, ugly and lore wise completly stupid version of the emperors avenging angels

Thinking back on the Space Wolves in modern 40K, I can't help but remember a quote from Gabriel Seth of the Flesh Tearers

"You are too noble to understand. That is not salvation, that is replacement. These new warriors will bear the colours of the Flesh Tearers, but without Sanguinius' is fury they will be Flesh Tearers in name only. All my time has chapter master I have waged war on our rage, to wrestle it into submission and use its strength and sleigh our foes. We are Fury! From the time of Amit, the savage lord, to this day, we have carried the White heat of Sanguinius' anger in us. That was our gift and our burden. The flaw is what makes us who we are. we are nothing without the struggle against it. He would make us all Ultramarines in red armour. There are few of my warriors left, few true Flesh Tearers. Once we are dead, the Flesh Tearers will be no more, no matter that these abominations carry our name. It is a betrayal, not a boon. Guilliman will want us gone quickly, and his own warriors in our stead. Open your eyes, Dante. These unnumbered sons, they are legions in all but name. I have spoken with the newcomers. They are only too glad to tell me of the avenging Sons plans. Wherever Guilliman goes, he leaves his men in place. Through the Codex, he gave the Adeptus Astartes their independence. He is more than willing to remove it from us. Soon, the chapters will be free in name only. And these new space marines, he has the gall to interfere with the work of the Emperor. If he's willing to do that..."

I agree. At least give us the deathwatch armour from the tutorial as a reward for beating campaign. There is no reward for doing it!
Failing that, let us at least customize the chaos stuff with different armour variants. Chaos always gets shafted and youre playing them half the time!

everyone knows that all the primaris are is a cheap marketing move to resell the space marines, thats also why they were made so op to encourage people to buy them

Another way to say People with a taste for the classic, flavour rich lore they grew up with instead of the cookie cutter molded armour of mass produced space marines available to the current generation.

Now excuse me while I paint my mass produced, cookie cutter armour squads of space marine forces of the 30,000 style persuasion lol

I believe he combined Firstborn (the term used for Space Marines created before Primaris) and incel.

Even if GW did get rid of Primaris I bet you'd move on to demanding that Guilliman and Lion' el Johnson go back to being dead.

I really hope they do add armor like Mk4 or Mk3 armor that would be so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool

I get that GW wants the Primaris Marines to be the new face of 40K, though I feel like a lot of the iconography of the Space Marines got washed away in the process of making the Primaris. It's also made even worse when the diverse cultures of the Adeptus Astartes is getting homogenized as a result, so you're not gonna see anything like how the Space Wolves, Blood Angels, or Black Templars have structured their respective chapters, with their identities really only being seen on their capes or pauldron details.

For the purposes of Space Marine 2 specifically, the push for Primaris has HEAVILY dumbed down how you can customize your Astartes, to the point where they had to relegate paintjobs to being unlockables rather than having different variations of your power armor in the first game. Like come on man, GW can't just go and decide that the beak helmets never happened. That's one of the more iconic things of 40K even if it's less prevalent than the Mk7's scowl helmet.

As an old school player, the Primaris changes feels like Mattel trying to make a movie promote their new toy collection. All the Bolter variations for example feels like someone just stuck a different scope on a Bolter or made the barrel smaller lol. It's lazy and it's money grubbing.

So that IS what they did, the Bolt rifle, Auto Bolter, and Stalker Bolt Rifle are the same gun with different scope and mag. GW had 3 different stats for them till the new edition where they made them one profile and took away any tactical or thematic choices you had.
