Are stupid bots ok for veteran difficulty?

doing first playtrough, i feel like the other 2 bots are absolutely useless...
do i just tone down or will they get better

About the best thing you can do is stay near the core and melee the small things then run around and dodge the flying ones near the end.

Trying to do like this on my 3rd attempts but getting overrun at some points - i guess i will have to lower the difficulty - bit sad the Bots are that useless

sucks, its not that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard to code a reasonable ai for these things...

I am doing Angel of Death, usually Solo OR if my friends(usually one) are available then they'll join me. During Solo play the Bots can be useful but they really struggle in certain areas. Not that they die a lot but its more so that they aren't as effective especially against certain bosses at least in my experience.

I imagine the bots will be a LOT more useful on the lower difficulties.

Single enemies/bosses are not a problem, its mostly the amount of multitasking and awkward controls on PC that make me have to be dealing 2-3 different things at once...

Like in that defend anthenas scenario... i have to juggle clearing antenas, sniping the suicide green things, killing the ranged enemies and that annoying thing floating in the sky... literally none of these issues is tackled by any of the bots, i frankly dont know wtf they are doing, if they just used their skills and executed some of the things that can be executed it would still be fine... they are like dummies that tank damage for some time.

For me my current issue stems from not only the boss but the large amount of enemies.
I can't remember the name of the area but I'll spoiler the fight I'm struggling with below.

CURRENTLY, the boss I'm struggling with is Imurah. The enemies he summons become very overwhelming and the bots don't seem to do too well against them at least in my current experience. I've only managed to bring the boss health down one chunk of his bar which is when he'll start summoning and at that point I can't quite figure out how to get him to stop-
That aside, I very much had similar difficulties that you described. Any time you need to clear the flying enemies off of something the bots just never seem to target it. Those parts specifically I needed a friend for since I just couldn't do the damage needed.

I would not play veteran or above without actual friends.
Randoms can't play.
Bots are there for decoration.

Def not, I had to restart campaign because in missions where you actually have to play the objective, you near instantly get swarmed and die or just lose the objective. AI is insanely idiotic, they don't do anything other than revive you when you go down(and you revive with 25% hp and go down instantly again anyway) so they are pointless.
I'm playing on "normal" and it feels much better. It is piss poor easy, but still more fun than veteran difficulty, which also is a bit immersion breaking since you feel extremely squishy and weak in that difficulty.

Got to the final boss on the hardest difficulty, and it was alright difficulty wise- bots are only good for reviving though. The final fight with Imurah though.... I get it is supposed to be hard, but this... you simply arent allowed to make more then like 2,3 mistakes and bots do nothing....

The bots aren't great, but I think the devs could manage to at least give them team boons at the level that the players are supposed to be at when they play a higher difficulty Operation.

Yesterday and today i encountered 2 stacks of players which had simmilar names likk "O Mr. Fusion" and "O Mr. Dunnoanymore", which seemmed to be bots. In PVE MP. They helped very good, too good. They had cuustomm skins. Imo, they are checking out some AI driven mp companions.
