Red eye bar icnreasing or decreasing center screen?

Hi there, I might have missed this during the tutorial, but I cannot seem to understand what is the bar with some sort of red eye at the center screen during combat

If you are fighting the tyranids it means you are getting poisoned. If it gets to full you vision will be worse and you get a debuff. If you are fighting the archenemy you will see halucinations.
