Picking AI teammate?

Whenever a friend & I play operations, we have an AI 3rd player. However, it's always the Vanguard rather than another class that would fit better in our team comp. We'd rather it was *anything* else but haven't seen a way to change it. Has anyone else had any luck changing what your AI partners are?

Hi. Me and my brother have the exact same problem but we have a sniper who doesn"t like to use his sniper rifle so he is useless. Me neither know how to change his class. Maybe if I pick sniper then he will change to an other random class.

Go to the armory and choose the class you want the ai to be. Then switch back to your original class. The ai will be the class you switched to. Change to 2 classes if you are solo before going into the mission to get the best 2. I play bulwark and heavy and tactical usually do best as ai.

How do you mean? I tried it but it didn’t work. When do you do it, before you select the mission or after?

bump, this would be a huge deal for dealing with not ever getting a third as a group of 2.

It seems the game remembers the last classes you played with and gives you that same one repeatedly. You have to do this before anyone joins your game and before selecting the mission. If you have a friend joining, pick the class they will be taking first. Then select the one you want to keep, then select your class. After each class selection back out of the armory panel, so you see that you are the selected class. This has worked almost everytime I have tried it. Occasionally it will give you only one of the chosen classes, but it is better than nothing and you can back out, reject the mission and try again.

That would be a massive quality of life improvement if we could pick what classes the ai is using. We need that added in another update.
