Game is awesome but FPS drops bring down the experience.
Having swarms of Tyranids closing in on you is a really cool visual but is it really worth the massive fps drop ? Everytime theres some position in game to defend i'm constantly getting sucked out of the experience seeing my 60fps dip to 55 or lower.
I pretty much playing on the lowest settings i can.

You're a bit under the recommended. Recommended claims wanting a 3070, and that should also get your ultra preset at 1080p for 60fps. What resolution are you trying to play at and are you using DLSS?

Use DLSS and cap your framerate at 60. Higher framerate can lead to the CPU thermal throttling and then the framerate easily dips below 60.

I'm running the game with FSR2 set to balanced and framerate capped at 60, keeps it quite smooth.

already was doing that, my monitor is 60hz so i already had the settings capped at 60fps and DLSS on but still get frame dips in large combat sequences.

i'm playing at 2560x1440 and using DLSS, i did play it on 1920x1080 for a bit and the quality was the same there didn't seem to be any difference

Have you tried 1080p with the graphical preset increased from low to medium? Maybe play with resolution, presets, and DLSS mode. I wonder if you're throttling somewhere and might need to balance the load between GPU and CPU a bit more.

My fps is struggling too no matter what I change it doesn’t help.
Specs:
RTX 4070 super
I9 9900k
32g of ram
2tb nvme ssd

Running DLSS in balanced
I have all shadows turned down to low
Tried both 4k and 2k resolutions. Hovering around 60-70 with drops often to mid to low 40s sometimes high 30s
