New health regen system is a huge step backwards
Gotta admit not sure why they made this design choice here but this is definitely a step backwards in ever way. Im sure the ship has already well long sailed for it to be changed even as an option, but just a shame.

Makes the game feel needlessly difficult since the biggest threat in teh game now is not even big heavy hitting things, its little ankle biters that just chip damage away

what health regen system? outside of contested health there is nothing you can do except using the maybe one or two health packs per person per level that barely even heal you on higher difficulties

space marine 1 had different health system, its a simple skill issue on the op's part

No im dealing with it, i never said i was not, i just said it was a step backwards because it feels bad.
Chill out, im not attacking you, just pointing out its not as good as number one.

In SM1 it was a lot simpler and it worked better. There were no Heal packs, or stims, you had a health bar and armor bar, armor regenerated much faster out side of combat then this one does, and performing a execution regained health lost.

This version of it feels a lot more clunky.

The biggest problem is the gun parry usually being a net health loss, as opposed to restoring armor.

bud, sometimes regardless of good or bad skill the system can suck - just because you find a way to jank through it does not make it good

The gunstrike not having any invincibility frames is absolutely wild

You disagreed with his opinion. That is the highest level insult that he could ever possibly receive. Imagine all the cortisol you just forced into his veins. He will never recover. How dare you think differently than "barneytheknight". Don't you know the universe revolves around him?

Thats what i mean it feels far more clunky then SM1.
I expected getting health damage while perfomring executions as it happened in 1 all the time, but the saving grave of that in 1 was that unless you were doing a very poorly timed execution you would end up getting more health back then what was chipped away.

Because this system restores armor not health its almost always a net loss. It jsut feels bad.

The health system in this can be best described that the devs felt the need to reinvent the wheel and came up with square ones.

I think it technically has some, but not enough to cover the recovery afterwards while you're waiting to regain normal camera angle and control of your marine. Needs to be like 50% longer at least. Right now I'm basically skipping them unless it's the last enemy.

skill issue. learn to deal with the horde. its called parry
BenShinobi Sep 9, 2024 @ 4:11pm
They came up with a more challenging system, rather than one that was frankly too easy.

I think the game is overall balanced with co-op in mind in any case. The 'intended' veteran difficulty does feel like it needs your ai partners to carry a bit more weight.
