I just played with a controller, did you start the controller before launching the game?

You have to enable Default input and switch to Big Picture Mode.
My controller worked initally, but couldn't get my Xbox or PS4 controller, wireless or wired, to work after quitting the game.

Big Picture Mode and Enable Default Input is what you need.

Ive tried it every way possible now, big picture, little picture all different settings and it is not working still. I dont know why

whilst in game i can use the controller on steam if i use the xbox button but as soon as you get in the game it wont work. All other games are fine, tried it on wukong again to make sure and that is fine.

I had it for a moment, it worked until I restarted the game and stopped again

I made progress, what I did was I removed the controller from my PC's known connections and reconnect it with it plugged in.

-Forget device in bluetooth settings
-Start the game
-Enable steam input
-Turn on controller with it connected (Hardline)
-Confirm it works while connected
-Disconnect
-Connect via bluetooth
-Test again in game
