This game is made by a company whose HQ is still in Russia.

That's all I want to say. They pay taxes in Russia and the bulk of their operation is in Russia.
Y'all are free to make your own decision. I wanted this game, but I've got my own limits.

• russian office remains ops center, growing till 2023
• legal residency remains unchanged = taxes support the regime
• only being dumped by Embracer triggered *limited* staff reloc+ops shrinking

Please spare me the arguing and political discourse. This is what it is. You are free to buy this. At the end of the day it's not a lot of money, I just personally would rather donate 50€ towards a fund for Ukraine rather than have even 1€ reach Russia as tax money. If you have less qualms about it, you are right and free to do so: this videogame by itself is innocent, it doesn't promote Russian ideology, it's just a taxes issue.

I am only trying to inform people.

makes me wonder now if it was these people who were actively trashing and making the helldivers2 community toxic.

helldivers2 is a competitor in many regards, not just gaming.

Embracer Group will sell selected parts of Saber Interactive for SEK 2.52 billion ($247 million) to Beacon Interactive, controlled by Saber co-founder Matthew Karch. The Saber divestment would also allow the Swedish holding company to wind down all operations in Russia, home to Sabre's largest office, which it said would "immediately" improve its cash flow, reduce capital spending, net debt and future liabilities. Embracer granted more time to wind down its Russian operations.

There is not much known about Beacon Interactive, but is shouldn’t be confused with Beacon Interactive Systems, a software development company that works closely with the US Department of Defense.

It appears that the new business entity was registered in Florida in January 2024 as Beacon Interactive Group Holdings LLC, with Karch as its only manager/director. The company doesn’t have an official website or other pages with information about its operations.

but the secrecy of who is "beacon interactive" from Florida is pretty weird.z

Your first assumption is already wrong. This office(which in not HQ, btw) has been relocated to Armenia somewhere this year or in 2023.
Thus your other points are completely wrong, as well.

Factually incorrect. They opened an office in Armenia, their main ops is still in Russia. Sorry.

I don't "google" stuff, I've got a whole damn study here about this kind of stuff. Like, you know, books. The paper things.

Anyway what I posted is the truth, and as I said, the political discourse is done for me, I've done my research I'm not in the mood for teaching kids. That's all I wanted to say everyone can make their own moral decision.
