Did they Just Copy/Pasted StarCraft?
Couldn't help myself and watched the opening cinematic. Instantly got 1 to 1 comparison with that StarCraft II trailer, where zergs swarm a planet. But there they actually looked much cooler.

So, Tyranids invasion. Planet bombarding and stuff. I thought Warhammer had original ideas, enemies and armies, but they really went into lazy plagiarising other franchise?
I know it's hard to resist to not use older universes, such as StarCraft which is older than SpaceMarine games and more badass. Nothing wrong with re-inventing others ideas. Fine... but at least do it better? =/

And now there's already a debate about what came first. But that's not the point.^^

Skaven were stolen from Nutcracker. The only original thing is punk irish midgets with mohawks.

IMO, I imagine fewer comparisons would've been made if Space Marine 2 leaned more towards the medieval fantasy elements of 40K

Back when the first Dawn of War was new and I knew nothing of Warhammer 40K, 12 year old me saw what looked to be a fantasy world with chainsaw swords, orcs with guns, and evil cultists.
I see what OP did dere.

The rodents and how they behave is straight up copied from Plague Tale...

not Starcraft admittedly, but I'd say that's only a matter of time.

Star craft was originally going to be a GW game, assets were made and then the IP got pulled by GW. Blizzard was stuck with work they had already done and used them to make what is now star craft.

You clearly misunderstood, the game and lore are older than starcraft 2. Many games took inspiration from this universe, might want to do some research before making this claim.

I know what you mean. I noticed that too. It’s very similar to the sequence where the two fighters fly into the frame and bombard the Leviathan. The music is also similar.
But it's not a copy. Maybe they were inspired by it, or it's just a coincidence.
Ahahahahah OP is joking (as you can see if you check what's under the black 'spoiler', but you? You can't be serious lol

Dune
Star Wars
Star Trek

Stanislaw Lem
[...]

The list is endless... And I have to admit, that's why I love this hobby so much.

Edit: You got me!

And all of scifi-fantasy and fantasy appears to steal from Barsoom.
For some reason dune and star wars fans just ignore its existence.
