Is there a lack of content?
I haven’t bought the game yet, but I see some threads concerned about a lack of content. If I’m not interested in PVP, is there any reason to get the game? I mean a 10-12 hour campaign is nice and all, but I’d like to spend more time in the WH40K universe.

Yeah. It's made by the world war z devs so besides the campaign, operations, the pve mode is what people are expecting to give it staying power. There are only a small amount of maps now but when I think of how saber inc supported world war z, I expect them to release more.

I loved world war z.

Can I customize my space marine in the PVE modes? How does the cosmetic system work in PVE?

You can, and it's decently advanced for PvE. I would recommend checking some videoes on YouTube to see if it strikes your fancy.

There's already a roadmap as well that you could look into for new PvE content, we're expecting to get more maps, a new enemy type and such within the first couple of seasons.

In Operations, you are able to customize your Space Marine. Cosmetics carry over between PvP and PvE. There is no cross-class customization excluding items that can be earned via heraldry & earned through out-of-game activities.

If it was half the price the amount of content would be worth it.

ironically like most modern games you could probably get it on sale in a year for cheaper and with more content.

it is worth it. people just think they need a 60hr campaign.
Playtime totally depends on the difficulty you chose AND if you take your time to explore the areas. PVE does have "few" missions however each of them have 4 different levels of difficulty, playing with friends is super fun and no network issues so far.

PVP is silly, gritty and tons of fun. No one is sliding around, changing weapons every second, we are slow armored tanks barely running around shooting at each other.

Devs have said more PVE missions will come, more Campaign missions, etc.

Hmm ok. I didn’t mean to offend about the campaign stuff. To me, this game is similar to left for dead 2, but it might be lacking variety in each mission. Are the missions pretty dynamic like in LFD2? Is there a director that changes the game as you play? The objectives can be the same, I’m just trying to gauge if the game will get boring quick

They are not very dynamic. Some objectives pretty much just take longer or shorter sometimes. There is supposedly a director system behind this game. But it is no where near as impactful as Left 4 Dead in my opinion. Another thing to compare would be the character chatter. When I play Left 4 Dead I still hear new lines of dialogue to this day. Space Marine loops their dialogue so much I ended up muting it. Also, there is a lot of waiting during the mission, whether it being for dialogue or for riding elevators.

No. Don't listen to people that rushed the story. You can get a good 10 hours out of it. Ontop of that you have PVE missions that run along side the story mode that are 30-50 minutes long. You're getting a lot of game and seasonal updates will bring new enemies and missions. Enjoy SM2. :)

So they said they would add more operations missions? 🤔

Yes there is a road map, the first missions will arrive sometime this year supposedly. Horde mode is coming at the end of next year.
