What is going on with Mastery points?
You only get 4 mastery points per weapon - how are you supposed to even use most of the perks?
Eg. you spend 4 to unlock all main (first in mastery tree) perks, how are you supposed to use final subperks in last tier if you dont have enough mastery points?

Mastery points are weird, it kind of works like Warframe, where you get "experience" every time you master a new individual weapon. So you can either 1. Use every weapon until it is mastered, or 2. Spend armoury data to instantly master a weapon you don't want to use. Every time you master a weapon, you get a mastery point. So you are incentivized to spend gold unlocking weapons and then armoury data mastering it, if you don't want to actually use it (for example I hate "Block" type melee weapons, so I always armory data master them.)

I dont think thats true. I play Assault and I cant progress my weapons past second tier until i go and play third tier and get purple armoury data. You get a mastery point for perks each time you unlock next tier, and those mastery points dont share between weapons. You only get 4 per weapon which makes it impossible to use any subperks from 4 tier of perks. Its stupid. Unless its prepared for Prestige Ranks coming in season 3

I do ruthless difficulty and have all the weapons for two different classes maxed out perk trees, if that isn't how it's working for you, your game is doing something wild.

Ok, I get it, master other types of the specific weapon in said tier which you dont use and then you get a mastery point.

Yeah, it's a great use for all that extra armory data you'll be stockpiling, but it's also good for trying out the different melee weapon types, because cleaving potential and defensive type actually have huge impacts on how a melee weapon plays, like even two chainswords will play and feel entirely differently if they have different defense types/cleaving potentials.

For the heavy, if you Max out every melta, and go a direct line, no deviations, you STILL cant get to the end of the perk tree xD

I bet they will add more variants when the Lethal difficulty drops.
