every succesful celebrity/streamer/politician/actor/whatever is a manipulator/liar/etc.
but the ones that last a long time and don't burn out are the ones who just exxagerate their real personality instead of completely making up a persona.
Merit is subjective, so we always have... it's just those merits are probably not ones a lot of people would agree with, unluckily for them it generally doesn't matter what they believe.
