(SERIOUS REPLIES ONLY) FEMALE ASTARTES/ REPRESENTATION
IF YOU JESTER REACT. YOU ARE STUPID. FORM AN ACTUAL ARGUEMENT AND REPLY SO WE CAN DISCUSS THE ISSUE.

Look, I'll start this off by saying I've been a member of the Warhammer community now for an extensive period of time (roughly 2 years~ since I started the hobby), and I've been playing Warhammer and Warhammer adjacent games for the entirety of that time. Ever since I began I have STRONGLY felt that the exclusion of femininity from the primary cast of characters in Warhammer is extremely disgusting. Most notably: The Emperor and his primarchs, the astartes in their chapters, and many of the characters besides.

It's not even that we need more female inclusivity (which we do). It's also that we need more sexual inclusivity, including homosexuality and bisexuality, which are two things which are incredibly lacking in the Warhammer lore and amongst the astartes in particular.

I am not opposed to any arguements or disagreements on the topic, but I feel like we really have to be a serious, strong, united community and have a genuine discord about this topic going forwards. This is a live service game, anything can happen people. Personally I would love it if they finally bent, distanced themselves from the malicious ways of the 90s, and finally added female Astartes.

Edit: The Jester awards only prove your own stupidity.

How to break a Company.

Why inclusion is something desirable, why is it always lorded as something universally good ?

Think about it, all thinks In live really worth the effort are exclusive.
You would rather have your own house or share one with 10 strangers.
You would rather have wife for yourself or "share" her with other men ?
Best schools in the world are also exclusive.
I could put more examples, but I believe my point is made clear.

Space marines may be the poster child faction but that doesn't mean that it MUST include female representation especially when they have long established a reason in universe why this is not the case and is part of what makes Space marines so difficult in universe to produce. This game may focus and Space marines and they are the marquee faction but the truth is in universe there are probably 1 million female guardman for every space marine in existence. Hell the Imperial guard commander in this game is female. Are you going to insist orks have female presenting models/characters next? They are literally fungus with no gender but certainly present as male.

The 40K universe has plenty of inclusion and I do notice you ignoring longer posts that take the time to talk about this. I'm beginning to think you to are just trying to farm steam points by intentionally posting bait/troll replies however so far yours have been far less egregious than others I've seen so I've reported nothing yet.

So you 1. Admit that they are the poster childs of 40k and 2. Posit that allowing women into the marines would 'FUNDAMENTALLY' change the lore. This is ridiculous, it's literally just a woman in armour, it would not ruin your precious lore it would only serve to include more peoples who have not been properly represented in the mainstream of Warhammer 40k. You can talk about all of these other auxillary characters like guardsmen and sororitas, but 90% of people that consume the modern 40k content dont get to see any of that, just men.

1) Obviously yes, they are the most popular faction
2) No, they are not just women in armor, another user has posted a much more detailed history behind WHY in the lore Space Marines are male only by design. Changing this fact would be like gender reversing the characters in "A handmaiden's tale"
3) YOU and YOU alone are the only one declaring that the 20 of 36 factions that are not a variant of space marine (literally the only reason they are the poster children is there's so many variants of them) are just side characters. You are dismissing the rich lore of 20 different factions many of which have heavy female representation as being mere side characters because that fits the narrative you want to spin. You've tunnel visioned on the fact that there are no female space marines to equal there is no female representation in warhammer 40k falsely

i wouldnt support roided up pre-teens having any form of relationship. also warhammer doesnt really have time for interpersonal relationships most of the time, so including them feels like a waste

Except it would majorly upset the current balance of things with the lore, it would be like remaking Game of Thrones and making Queen Cersi king Cersi. There being no female Space Marines is not gatekeeping the lore, hell I worked in a games workship for 7 years and introduced many women to the hobby and pointed them towards the MANY factions that do in fact have a ton of female representation. There are 36 playable factions in Warhammer 40k of which there are 16 different flavors of space marine (including Chaos) leaving 20 other factions full of Female representation or lacking any kind of Gender identity in the first place.

Not every game needs playable characters that represent everyone especially if it doesn't make sense for the lore in such an established IP such as this.

King Cersei wouldn't be the end of the world, it wouldn't majorly ruin her character, and having women with bolters in big suits of armour wouldn't fundamentally alter your precious game. Get a grip dude.

I mean your the one ignoring an entire faction called the Sisters of battle which are women who carry big bolters while wearing power armor so who here needs to get a grip?

This just... Doesn't make any sense dude, get a grip. Inclusion is universally good, and you'd be asking for it too if you were on the other side of the fence. No one wants to be left out, including women.

Surprise, surprise! Custodes are not Spacemarines!

They don't follow the same procedures to get a new member. We actually have whole books about this. Custodes left just enough leeway to have females. Spacemarines are a different story.

Once again, you are pushing a narrative that intends to not only write over established lore, but twist and *replace* them with your personal fantasy. Get a grip.

Check your privilege. You're already resorting to just being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ instead of having a serious discussion. They ARE also made VERY SIMILARLY to how Astartes are made. Also, some lore for you: since Belisarius managed to edit the Astartes gene-seed for Primaris, it is not at all unreasonable to assume that he could also make a variant applicable to females.
HAHAHA the "fan" said it! You hear that everyone! We all are privileged! Every Warhammer fan who's against the woke stuff! XD

Belisarius Cawl made the Primaris marines to be more advanced than the first founding marines. He added, he did not edit. He added on to an existing template that was already faster and stronger and added a 2x modifier to it. He did not "edit" anything.

Second, Custodes are not made similar to space marines. They are not mass produced as how space marines are. They are designed as body guards. Faster, broader, stronger, and taller than a space marine, they can withstand chaos corruption because that is how they are made. Don't compare the Custodes and Astartes together cause that is where you will be wrong.

You're just another lunatic who over thinks everything and wants everyone to convert to your own personal views.

You are thinking of 'light customization' somehow also including gender swaps. No, nobody would dare to meddle with Astartes gene seed system to have this. And no, heavily bio-modding a candidate (which btw, nobody cares if it's whether male or female candidate) since childhood is not similar to adding new organs to grown up adults.

You are also deliberately ignoring the technology discrepancies throughout the Imperium as well as the in-lore universe. You already have your answer. Just ask for Custodes to be in video games more.
Technology 'discrepancies' even though we literally have Primaris marines and a Biologis ACTIVELY WORKING ON THE ASTARTES GENE-SEED AND MODIFYING IT. This is WHOLLY possible in-lore and there is a very obvious reason why they haven't, and it's disgusting.

I like how GW is once again forgetting that the Sisters of Silence exist and have fought along side the Custodes.

But why? Someone needs to explain to me why a four-plus-decade-old piece of fiction needs to address real-world issues. Not every game is made for everyone.

SM2 isn't the greatest game of all time, but it does one thing perfectly: It gives me the ultimate W40k feeling. It delivers almost perfectly what the majority of fans want to see. Why does it need to include real-world issues so that "everyone feels welcome"? It is simply not required. If it's attractive to some, so be it. We have seen what happens to games that try to cater to "everyone."

It’s also unclear to me how sexual orientation or gender would fit in a scenario where a bunch of genetically modified dudes slay aliens. Why is it impossible for people to enjoy something “as it is”?

One of the smallest factions in 40k... They don't represent the game and they sure as hell don't represent Space Marine 2 -- which is, again, entirely male...
Shroud Sep 9, 2024 @ 2:38am
Go read the established lore... Space marines are only males...

Now there are PLENTY of other factions that do have women: Imperials, Custodes, Eldar, Tau, Sisters of silence, Sisters of Battle...

Due to their popularity, Space Marines are the main pick for all video games/movies/content because they are a guaranteed to sell well and are the 'good guys'...

Darktide is different because it centres on the Imperial Guard/convicts and there are PLENTY of women in that... Ugly but still women.

Now, if this game was called SISTERS OF BATTLE and was focused on them, you wouldnt see any males.

It annoys me too. You can add females to the Custodes but you shouldn't just ignore the other female factions, they all need to be represented better. But I do seriously think female astartes would be a good inclusion.

just don't play the game it not for you. leave us alone damn it
