W40K is also diverse, Space Marines are merely a group of a specific faction that was created by the Emperor himself, with the creation of his 20 Sons, and those Marines are seeded with the same but limited genetics of those 20 Sons to help form the 20 different chapter legions. Ultramarines being one, which YOU are playing as.
Sometimes lore is lore, and sometimes it makes more sense to keep it as it is instead of fixing something that isn't broken. If they wanted to include female representation, they'd include Battle Sisters in. But they didn't, that means the story is focused in locations with lack of Sororitas present. [Yes, you can have systems with NO Sororitas, or no Astartes. ] So that means none of them are available to deal with the Nid Swarm.
Another note, if we add a diversity branch into every, single hobby, into every single game, but we do not apply this to all the games related to Female Protagonists, then I find that hypocritical. Why can't I play as a man in Tomb Raider? Or in the new Last of Us instead of Ellie? Why? Because of the literal story presented.
If anything, petition for a game about the Adepta Sororitas military branch, also called Sisters of Battle, then you have female characters.
Besides, if you can't play a game, because the character is of the opposite sex, then that is a YOU problem. I never had that problem and could easily play games with female characters or even make female mains in RPG's that have character creation.
Also, when it comes to representation, I neither need it nor have ever felt it. Now, if they ever make a game about an introverted normal guy in his late 40s going to work every day, where he hates life more and more with the passing of each, then I might. But I am no Commander Shepard, I'm no Space Marine, I'm no Barret or Could or Bayonetta or Tifa or 2B. Yet I still enjoyed the games and could, if the story was told well, understand the motivation through the power of empathy or logical deduction.
