Truthfully, the Space Marines and Sisters of Battle regularly team up in the novels, source books, promotional ads, etc. It would not be unusual to see the Sisters of Battle and the Space Marines fighting side-by-side in this game.
It would be awesome if Saber added the Sisters of Battle as playable classes in a future update. :)
Sisters of battle however have an even bigger quality than both space marines and custodes both which have fear removed... sisters have overcome fear naturally and they are capable of actually manifesting miracles like REAL miracles.
Meanwhile an awesome game just came out. But hey, have fun hating things. : )
Custodes are heavily genetical altered but the process is different from Astates.
Afaik we don't exactly know how they are made only that its more specific to the individuals genetic make up and this not as standertized as the Space Marine Geneseed.
Technically speaking the strongest non modified Human faction are the Sisters of Battle. Which given the IoMs focus on purity of the Human form is kinda funny and fitting the Sisters credo
Yes, I worded that very stupidly and incorrectly in my haste to explain everything else.
I meant to say they're not genetically added to, simply every part of them is genetically at it's peak the only way to be better would be to add more.
as an example Custodians don't have two hearts like space marines, because their one heart is better than that. they don't need the redundancy because their protection is better than needing it.
and I quote:
"Not then for the Adeptus Custodes the pattern of surgical grafting and organ implantation that creates a Space Marine, no such crudities of augmentation at all mar the Custodian; what creates them is as invisible as it is potent, worked upon the core genetics and at a deep cellular level, and perhaps tailored to each specific inductee. There are those who insist that so invisible and yet so powerful is this process that it crosses over into a metaphysical realm of biomancy and psychic manipulation on a level unguessed at. Given that it is said that the Emperor Himself has overseen the creation of every single Custodian Guard who has ever lived, this may well be true."
I would personally love if they included sisters of battle in a future DLC/Expansion.
Primarch geneseed -> only men can use it
The "alchemy" custodes are created from -> universal donor
In immperium there are many armed forces.
PDF, Arbites, Inquisition and Agents of Terra, Navy, Astra Militarum, Custodes, Adeptus Sorroritas, many auqsiliery units, Mechanicum, Titan legions, Astartes etc etc,
In most of them you have mixed genders, from memory I can tell that you Have sorroitas that are all female, Sisters of sillence - all female, Space Marines - all male, And then you have special cases like assassins that some of them are "gerdenles" can take any shape and form etc.
So please tell me how exactly is WH40K not incclusive and diverse ?
( and that's just immperium not counting all the xenos and other factions )
Edit: Also the game is called "Space Marine" ( so it's kinda obvious that you are playing as a Space Marine )
About Custodes - they aren't "some type of better Space Marines" they are completly different beings, taken in young age and specially tailor made, every single one is unique invidual ( not sure how they keep making them after Big E is on the throne ).
Unlike Space Marines that are "mass produced".
I was asking an honest question, I admit I had little interaction with the IP so I acknowledge the desire for playing a female is uncanny when someone understands the lore, but that's why I asked.
I never claimed it wasn't, my question is more strictly tied to the game and how well it can fit in the lore while providing player choice.
I admit I didn't understand the full definition of the Space Marine as a category and assumed it was a wider definition of the genre type faction. Such as how you have the UNSC and then sub category of marines/spartans/etc.
I only mentioned Custodes because I remember hearing about that and had it more explained that they are more personal guards (Not sure if the right term for the job so sorry if I used the wrong term) to the emperor and it was stated they were male (which if they helped the emperor like a handmaiden or a nurse then it makes sense if the emperor would have them be strictly male).
Right now you can only play as Astartes, which are all male. Maybe in the future they will support mods, or release a DLC which has Adeptus Sororitas as a character model. Who knows!
