Spoilers why is the chaplain still an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥?
So end of the game Calgar says he was pissed that Titus was suspected at all and that he knows that Titus is incorruptible and a stalwart servant of the emperor and the ultramarine but the chaplain comes and basically says "Yeah pretty much the whole chapter and Calgar himself revere you and trust you completely but ♥♥♥♥ that your still a danger in my eyes" then pulls off his helmet to reveal he is leandros and even has the gall to look angry at Titus when he does it as it to push the point that he'll be watching you.

What the ♥♥♥♥? Why is he just allowed to be an absolute ♥♥♥♥ wad still? I admit I'm not super clear on chaplain ranking in the chapter but isn't this basically him second guessing Calgar himself? is it about his ties to the inquisition? Also if Calgar thought the entire suspicion with Titus was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ why did he end up promoting Leandros as well?

Also, did we ever get an explanation to Titus's warp resistance?

Remember it's been around 200 years since the events of space marine one and people can get promoted and it may not had been Calgar's choice.

Humanity is always extremely cautions over anyone they think has been corrupted by the warp because of the Horus Heresy events and they often go to extremes to prevent something similar from happening.

Some will never trust a person if they believe they are corrupted even if one of their leaders says otherwise.

Question who exactly is in charge of chapter chaplains? They seem a bit out of ordinary.

That's literally a Chaplain's job, to maintain the spiritual purity of the chapter, he's supposed to be a paranoid prick.

Honestly I have no idea where they were going. At start I thought it was going to be explained that Leandros was the one who got Titus back into the Ultrasmurfs since the dialogue strikes me "You are back but need to prove yourself" but he did a complete 180 once Papa Smurf shows up
As for the Warp Resistance, yet it is explained that it's down to Titus purity and faith
Didn't say it was a good answer

like most positions within chapters, existing people in the middle ranks recommend them to the higher ranks, who then for the most part follow the recommendations. for a position like chaplain no doubt a bunch of trials and tribulations are also required.

chaplains themselves are spiritual leaders, and well, heresy is the most common word in the imperiums religion for better or worse. and with so many space marines going traitor, a bit of a better safe than sorry approach has merit.

I wish they did more with that reveal, even having Titus reiterate that leandros fails to live up to the ideals of brotherhood, but his new brothers do, and tells leandros to be better. Having leandros have the last word is annoying

Then you will like this. This one sheds some light on his early days and explains how he ended up the way he is now.

Well... Given that he threw his captain under the bus to hold the book word for word.

It makes perfect sense he would be the best fit for a Chaplin. Bro don't care who you are. If you are a heretic or even remotely show signs of it.... I couldn't think of a better fit then this wanker.

It is a chaplains job to make sure the chapter stays pure.

Well, Captain Ventris of the 4th Company and Sargeant Pasanius spent quite a while in the Eye before they fulfilled their Oath of Death and were reintegrated into the Chapter.

And Ventris kept his rank as Captain despite some initial missgivings with Sargeant Learchus (who rebuilt and led the 4th in his absence). Chaplain Clausel also said before their depature to Pavonis, that Ventris have to convince him personally that he learned his lesson.

But unlike Leandros, Clausel stood firmly behind Ventris during the entire Campaign without constantly antagonizing or questioning his decisions.

Yea, its hard to make people believe things unless they are given the 100% proof.

And since Leon was not there to watch him purge heretic after heretic... and not based on the words... I WOULD NEVER...

he is that kinda person that reminds me... if i didn't see it happen. its not true.
not gonna lie though, when i saw leon's face oh man. i was so tilted i was about to fall out of my chair.
