Way to improve the game
What is your opinion on how to make the game better?
In my opinion the game is going the right direction, but the ONE and ONLY thing that's killing the game for me is the balance. Playing sm2 with friends is lots of fun, but right now, you mostly have to pick specific weapons to be highly efficient.

Edit: I've watched a video about someone taking his time to look into (I think) reddit posts/Discord(?) or their website. The devs seem to be active on reddit/their own forum and are actively (Atleast it looks like it) listening to suggestions. Sorry I can't tell you their exact source.
- They mentioned that they are looking into the ability to change the looks of your AI, this means that we might be able to customize their looks. I hope this also means we can pick their classes.
- Someone asked for customizable thunderhawks (The plane you leave the hangar with), Saber answered that it would currently way too much time, but they would love to add it in the future.
- Someone asked for the librarian and chaplain class, the devs answered as follows:
"Hi!
We are thinking about adding new playable classes but we need more informations about what you would like to see as players! Beware that the development of new classes takes time so it won't happen immediately! Don't hesitate to give us more ideas we could take into account!", so let them know what you want!
- Devs were asked about randomly generated missions for more longevity and their answer to that was, that it's way too much pain to add something like that and they don't really intend to add it. BUT the devs also stated that they are already looking into things to increase the longevity of the game.
- Someone asked to make every customization and weapon accessible to every class, devs said no, because of role play and lore immersion.
- Some person stated all the flaws we mentioned about the difficulty and melee combat in a post. Sadly devs didn't answer that one and we are left with no answers about whether they plan to rebalance combat or not.
- Someone complained about being kicked at the end of a match and sadly there was no answer to this. This seems like a nasty issue and I hope that the devs will do something about this.

- Melee needs to be overhauled. As it stands right now, going melee in co-op WILL be punished by monsters. There is almost no fight I went into, that I came out with full shield. The enemy always has a higher priority over your own melee attacks. It doesn't matter whether you are using a power glove,2 handed Hammer (which is infused with electricity) or some simple butter knife. Monsters will always get 1 or 2 hits in no matter if you charged your attack or not. Staggering feels almost non-existent. Those shielded tzeentchians are the worst. They got impenetrable shielding power, UNLESS you charge your attack. While I agree that they should be able to block melee attacks, the game should differentiate between some small sword and a superpowered power glove. In order to compensate for those shield losses, they should either add the ability to charge shield by doing a certain amount of melee hits. Otherwise you will always get punished or if they added health per kill, which was the case in SM1, that would be extremely useful for heavily melee focused champions. I love the bulwark, but even if you have the fastest reflexes ever, you can never dodge/parry every attack that is coming in nonstop. And your only way of fighting efficiently is using your melee weapon. The pistol/plasma pistol is good for dealing with snipers, getting those headshot QTE or stopping enemies from calling in reinforcement.

- Add MEANINGFUL staggering/stun. When fighting specials, your first heavy attack might/will stagger/interrupt them for a second. Afterwards, they will unleash a flurry of attacks against you. So you can NOT stunlock specials with heavy attacks. This is terrible in a semi melee based game.

- Monsters comboing you. Pretty sure you have been through a fight, where you got stunlocked to certain death. When specials stunlock you, they stunlock you for good and there is absolutely nothing that you can do, except for watching your 3 armor and 100% health go down to 10%. If they are able to do it, so should we.

- Using the melta gun is like going ez mode, but sadly neccessary to be efficient. My buddy and I breezed through the highest difficulties with absolutely no problem. We both had a melta gun in our hands and nothing could stop us. You have ammo caches around every corner, at which you can replenish your melta ammunition. Why would I ever consider going for the minigun, if the melta gun can do it 10 times better, albeit at close range? Other weapons feel so underwhelming right now. I would have loved to play the heavy class with the minigun, but it is nowhere as good as the melta gun. They should REALLY buff the other weapons, so they feel like actual weapons.

- There are times where you loose a mission due to bad luck/gameplay. Getting no money at all feels extremely punishing, considering that you did quite well up until a certain point. The game shouldn't just hand out exp, but also partial money, even if it is like 30% of the amount that you would get for a win.

-This has not so much to do with the gameplay but rather with the community. I am so sick and tired of seeing the forum in its current state. I wish we could have a civil discussion without the topics disappearing into nothingness, because some clown decided to jump onto the train of farming clown awards via nonrelated stuff. The forum seriously needs to be moderated. Absolutely 0 admin/mod presence in here.

- You should be able to pick what class your co-op AI is going to be. My buddy and I usually ended up with classes that barely did any damage, the AI usually ended up as being an awesome bullet sponge though!

- Ranged enemies NEED to be nerfed. I can NOT dodge 25 little monsters, while also avoiding special units, only to end up taking a ranged hit in the back that drains 60% of my life.

- Game ABSOLUTELY needs audio queues. In Vermintide for example, you hear an audio queue when you are about to be attacked. Helps a lot to brace yourself.

- When joining a squad for operations, it shouldn't put you in a squad with duplicate classes.
this should at least be a toggleable option (Suggested)

- No exposition dumps/walking simulator/doing nothing at all while someone explains what you're doing in Operations.
SO MUCH WASTED TIME IN A MODE THAT'S MEANT TO BE INFINITELY REPLAYABLE (Suggested)

- Different PvP modes other than 6v6. Maybe 16v16 or 32v32, CTF and CT object like grimoirs and stuff (Suggested)

- Space Marine vs Tyranid PvP (Suggested)

- New PvE modes like Wave Survival (Suggested)

- Medikits are currently picked up by pressing and NOT holding E. Make ammo pickups, ammo caches, other items also like this. (Suggested)

- New classes, but this was already confirmed to be a thing (Suggested)

- PvP rebalancing, some classes perform way too good (Suggested)

- More customizable stuff (This should be a nobrainer and is probably already being worked on) (Suggested)

- Make temporary health degrade a bit slower than it does right now. This would survival on the highest so much more tolerable (Suggested)

- Add the health regeneration from SM1 after a finisher (Also a wish of mine)(Suggested)

- More PvE missions, though this was already confirmed on their roadmap (Suggested)

- Removal of the restriction of using the same class twice/thrice (Suggested)

- More cosmetics for weapons (Suggested)

- Show more infos on the HUD, like ally shields, cooldown on ult and some other QoL stuff (Suggested)

- Add armor regen to a perfect dodge/parry (Suggested)

- Maybe add more max. players to co-op like 4 or 6 (Suggested)

Fixed the all guns, remove all of the bolts and replace with other good guns like in Space Marine 1

Melee is all risk no reward at moment. It's too overly reliant on executions and gun strikes at moment to restore armour and you'll just be losing it the very second you exit the animation.

Gunplay is shockingly bad, even the melta although its the most efficient option is just not that satisfying to use. It's like sending a fart wave through a horde of enemies. Know the first Space Marine it was similar but felt like they could have done something different with it here.

Bolters just are far too inaccurate and do far too little damage, speaking of which there are far too many of them that really aren't that much different from one another. Not sure how much is GeeDubs and 10th edition influence here but there is a shocking lack of variety of weapons when you cut out all the bolter clones.

As for the discussion moderation, if it wasn't for the fact that steam forums are this retarded I would have said it was a deliberate ploy by devs to drown any and all criticism about their game out. It's not because people gravitate to bait on steam like flies to ♥♥♥♥.

You hit the nail on the head with what you've said! While I hate using the melta gun, it's just the best way of getting through those tough waves and I can't stop myself from using it haha. About the bolters. I had 0 idea about how deadly they are in the WH lore, but currently they do not reflect their lore self in any way. Hope the devs will actually take their time and rebalance the game.

What the game needs is some way to better sustain in melee, whether through easier shield recharging, or the ability to regain health/temporary health.

The class limit in co-op is going to kill co-op with randoms. I feel like I'm forever having to change classes to one I've barely played, or have no desire to play, just to get a match going.

I hope (but I also doubt it) that the devs will take their time to skim through some of the posts and reviews to help them improve the game. The game itself is really good, but sadly severely flawed. I was so pumped to play the bulwark. I ended up switching to the heavy gunner, since I felt like dead weight while playing with a friend. The HG makes you feel impactful or rather lets you enjoy the game more, since you don't get frustrated by the currently awful melee combat system.

As a vanguard, melee is by far too easy if you use the mechanics as intended. literally can't die as long as I'm in melee

There's audio for when Majoris type enemies are going to attack you...quite loud too. But also minoris like termigaunts if they are about to jump, chip damage is barely worth mentioning for audio unlike vt2 where a single clanrat can destroy 1/3 of your hp.

Well about 3 attacks from gaunts is enough to strip armor at substantial.

Haven't played PvP yet (probably wont, since I hate PvP), but judging by the topics on the forum, it's either hit or miss. What is your experience with PvP. Also added your suggestion.

I like melee a lot. I dont have a problem with it. So easy to kill with the power sword and chainsword
