Tactical or Hack'n Slay?
How are the missions, are they just a hack through of a Fleshwall of enemies gameplay or is there some tactical element involved?

I'm asking becasue the videos look like a pure hack'n slay gameplay but there is also a sniper class.

I'd say it's more hack'n slay with some parts of tactical from what I played so far with my friends on Angel of Death.

Depending on the difficulty it can be hard to just go purely brain dead mode and just keep swinging & shooting. I'm playing Bulwark now & dropping the ability for them if they need to defend an area while I go out to deal with larger threats since I have a shield and can take more damage (since I'm relatively comfortable parrying now).

There's some strategy, but in large it's like 80% hack'n slay. You can think of a plan, but you gotta adapt & keep slaying regardless.

If you are a sniper then usually your primary focus will be on the bigger enemies behind the small enemies. Especially ranged. Some classes have some difficulties dealing with a lot of ranged enemies.
It's a good mixture of both, and depends on class in multiplayer.

I like melee and find guns to be useful for softening a group up and then go into countering and striking with my melee of choice.

I also try to take aggro if I am meleeing so my gunner brothers can thin the herd at a safe distance, though sometimes there are too many enemies to draw all the attention to me, the fighting arenas can be quite big at times.
Lots of tactical elements in combat, block, parry, xecute, dodge, use skills and perks and abilities, etc
