GPU temps sky rocketing

idk if anyone else is having this issue, but when i was playing yesterday i noticed my GPU temp was at 93.4C. immediately closed the game and tried to figure out why. i hadn't been playing very long at all.
PC specs
Ryzen 5 5600X3D CPU
RX 6700 XT
TUF B550 Plus
if anyone could even tell me some tips that MIGHT help id seriously appreciate it. ive been so excited to play this game, but not at the cost of my pc

Idk about stock, im having the same card as you but is watercooled so max 55c in summer time. Did u change the paste of your card when u cleaned ? Maybe bad contact

Since it looks like you relatively new to PC hardware/software, how are you monitoring the temps ? By any chance are you looking at GPU hotspot or memory temp rather than die tempareture ? Those two usually will be pretty high especially on cards with not the best coolers on them but that would still be within spec.

im using armory crate to monitor my temperatures and fan speeds, etc. it only shows me a single temp reading for my gpu so im not sure.

Download HWInfo and you can see GPU Temp and Core Temp.

GPU Temp is the one you want to monitor if you want to check your GPU temps.

im not sure. i use armory crate to monitor temps, and it only shows me one reading for the gpu. it could be the hotspot temp maybe, because i never noticed any performance issues while playing

Your GPU driver has all the monitoring tools you need and it distinguishes between GPU (average) and hotspot. I would not recommend Armory Crate as it's borderline malware.

yeah you have to fully disassemble the card down to the PCB but you have to be careful as the GPU doesn't have a heat spreader like a CPU does so if you aren't careful you can crack the die. Check other high draw applications and games if they are fine your card is likely fine and the game is just sending instructions in the wrong way causing the card to heat up.

If you haven't removed the cooler before and the card isn't super old then the thermal paste is likely to be fine

i think that was it. im gonna run the game for a bit longer, but it looks like i was seeing the hotspot temp this whole time. main gpu temp seems to be resting around 66C while the hotspot temp is in the high 80s

I'm using Ryzen 5 5600X
and Gigabyte RX 6600 Eagle 8G.
When I play CS2, my GPU temperature peaks at 60-65 degrees Celsius, with a hotspot around 88-91 degrees Celsius.

That's OK. Not hazardous; simply monitor GPU temperature and update your drivers.

I've noticed it, but only during some of the cutscenes during the campaign. Pretty weird.
