Female Space Marines in Warhammer Space Marine 2: Progress or Heresy?
Alright, time to open Pandora’s box: should Warhammer Space Marine 2 introduce female Space Marines? Yeah, I said it. For years, we've been told that genetically, only men can become Space Marines. But here’s the thing—Warhammer 40k already bends, breaks, and rewrites its lore all the time. So why is the idea of female Space Marines still treated like some kind of heresy?

It’s 2024, and many franchises have evolved to include more diverse representations. Why shouldn’t the most elite warriors in the galaxy reflect that? We already have badass female warriors in the Sisters of Battle, but let’s be real—most people consider the Adeptus Astartes the true powerhouses of the Imperium. Why not open that door to women as well?

Would adding female Space Marines destroy the lore, or is it just time for Warhammer 40k to catch up with modern expectations? Does this idea open the universe to more fans, or would it 'ruin' the core appeal of the Astartes? I’m honestly curious—are we just clinging to old lore for the sake of tradition, or is there a real reason to keep women out of the Space Marine ranks?

That so called "modern audience" is nothing but lies and propaganda. People "fighting" for minorities usually dont even have any right to speak for them, because they arent even a part of it and dont really know how these people think about the topic at hand.
Im not sure if this is yet another jester farm or if you´re serious (in that case go see a doctor), but just effin´ stop. Its more than enough of this $hit, people just want to talk about- and discuss the game, not unnecessary bull$hit propaganda crap and whatever.

Heresy.

crawl bearly got away with modifiing the gene-seed to create primaris. he would be split into by hand if he created another primarch just to make female space marines

There are female Space Marines. They are called Sisters of Battle. They are just as badass.

Space Marines are best of the best for warfare. And men are best for such jobs.
That's the reality.

To answer your question here, I'll try to make it simple and clear with the lore.
Space Marines are built from regular humans using what is called a Geneseed, in other words a genetic set of informations combined to highly invasive chirurgy that serves to amp up the body to become the war machines known as Space Marines. Each chapter of Space Marine uses a different geneseed with different effects and in some cases defects, and Space Marine chapters are exclusively comprised of males.
The reason under this limitation is two folds and directly tied to the Geneseed concept, the Geneseed originates from Primarchs which all were created by the Emperor of Manking when He gave them the original Geneseeds their chapters now use to create new Marines. The Emperor created these initial seeds from His DNA, a male DNA thus, and unfortunately, or actually maybe fortunately, the Geneseed is incompatible with the small yet exceedingly significant genetic difference between a man and a woman which in turn makes the existence of Female Space Marines impossible.

But that doesn't mean there's no avenue for powerful females far from it, they just cannot be present in a game about space marines, and honestly I would find very interesting to see a Sister of Battle focused game or maybe one on say the Banshees from the Eldars.
The point is that each group has it's unique quirks Space Marines are all Male giants with bodies that could fold a car by sitting on it, and their "female equivalent" in the Sisters of Battle may not have their immensely powered up bodies sure, but their immense Faith gives them powers that rival and sometimes eclipse completely those of Space Marines. Rather than demand the lore to be changed to fit your idea, why not look into ideas that could make a game where these characters are playable together a possibility ?

gene-seed comes from the primarchs which are all male. its all based around there DNA. thats why they CANT be females
