Is it not possible to play operations solo?

yes, quite easy, I don't think you can choose your AI companions but, if you join Operations, and you leave Party, then pretty much out of the PUG Grouping and no one will join your run.

Can't fully confirm, somehow trying to join a pug I got somehow transported to a mission that was already a third the way completed. But for most part this is the case.

If you are "lucky" to enter one without other players joining.... i know it sucks.
Or in offline play.

They gonna implement private servers "in a bit".

You can play it offline...but I'm not sure if progress would be count in this mode.

Just play offline, there's zero difference. And you still get exp and rewards, etc.

Not true. I've played half a dozen games offline and my progress was definitely saved.

I tried yesterday with steam offline mode and you get no progress, so offline mode.
