The Progression System Need Revamped
Problems With the Progression System
The current progression system in an otherwise great game is a turn-off and is going to drive would be players away from sticking with the game as it evolves over the course of its road map

Separate Cosmetic and Class Progression
Having a single currency, Requisitions, be required to progress these categories puts players in a position where they are going to make mistakes as they try to kit out their preferred Astartes Chapter. Players will be in search of the correct right shoulder insignia or company pauldron trim paint and this means sacrificing progression of class skills. There is no explanation of this risk to a new player and the system itself is so frustrating its easy to have level 15 in a class and not be able to afford even the first row of its perks.

  • Class skills should just unlock at the appropriate level. There should be no need to also buy them with Requisitions.
  • The amount of Requisitions for victory should be increased at each difficulty level.
  • You should still receive a reduced amount of Requisitions for mission failure.
  • Continue to require victory to progress in unlocking distinct armor parts.

Weapon Progression is Simply A Bad Approach
The weapon system is convoluted and tying better weapons behind higher difficulty is a guaranteed way to drive players away out of frustration. The Minimal difficulty in this game is hard and recommending "Level 5" to players to take on the next difficulty tier is meaningless if they have spent their Requisitions on cosmetics instead of their class skills.

  • Mastery tokens should simply be removed from the game. As you progress experience on a weapon class the perks should also just unlock without having to acquire a mastery token.
  • Locking the Armory Data required to advance a weapon class to its higher tier is a bad formula. Some players will never be able to achieve those weapon data tiers and as such will remain stuck at a lower difficulty without a means to improve their offensive abilities beyond a point.
  • Armory Data needs an exchange system such as 5 Green can exchange for 1 Purple as so on.
  • This system also needs FAR better in game tools and tutorials without everyone having to refer to out of date early access review information or Reddit posts trying to figure out how this all works

Potential But Also Potential To Die Fast
This game is going to draw a lot of attention when it fully launches. People will be excited about playing as a Space Marine. Even with the above suggested changes the game is going to be a GRIND to progress. When players find out their progress is also heavily skill gated in what is a seriously difficult game they will move on to the next thing. Its important to preserve the high difficulty for players who have the skill and want that challenge. its equally important that the perks and equipment necessary to play on higher difficulties become available to players of lower skill and that the systems involved here be retooled quickly or this game will end up with a very small player base of nothing but hardcore difficulty seekers. The entire backbone of what is otherwise a great game, its progression systems, are a total miss and I hope you take the above as constructive criticism to improve the game and sustain your audience while you still have the opportunity to do so.

Same currency for cosmetics and upgrades feels terrible. Do I get to look good or do I actually progress?

Disagree. Not everyone needs to be able to complete/obtain everything.
Why your type always want a participation trophy?

Want the shiny high tier things? Complete the more challenging stuff

My biggest gripe with progression is coin being carried to the end of co-op. In one of the most broken armor/health systems I have seen in years.

Otherwise weapons halting xp gain until they are unlocked with said coin is a major annoyance. In order to not waste a hour long co-op match. Im better off taking a weapon I dont want or enjoy so it can be leveled atleast. Due to lacking coins...
Minimal is hard?
What?
LOL

This is all skill issue, my group's doing fine and we got our first relic weapons today. The harder difficulties are super satisfying if you actually learned the game.

Only paint costs points. Armor cosmetics are free and unlock with wins.

Have to agree... progression from my experience has been incredibly easy even with the game's terrible balancing, and you get a ton of req. I read that it took someone only 20~ hours to max a class which sounds like a lot but most people won't ever play more than a few they like.

The only thing wrong with the progression system is the fact that everything costs requisition and you get very little of it per game.

nah, keep seeing this type of response in thread after thread. go play public and try differnt classes. using just the good classes and only certain select parry types is a game mechanics limitation. nothing to do with skill.

select parry types? What are you on about?
Also every class is valid.

I agree most classes are viable but the difficulty increase from level 2 to 3 difficulty is pretty high compared from level 2 to 3. Other than people just saying it's a skill issue I'm open to suggestions on how to actually do better.
