Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2

Operations Difficulty
So now I'm at a point where I need the little purple thing to upgrade my weapons which only drops from the third difficulty where all the armor-granting creatures are bullet sponges and I am getting my butt kicked.

What is the strategy to progress from here?

skip it until balancing rolls out. melee is a ridiculous clunkfest where you have no chance. the armor system is pure trash and needs revisiting or flat out scrapping and bringing back health on kill.

So just continue leveling my character until the second difficulty becomes too easy? Will that even happen? The class bonuses seem a bit lackluster to make that great of a difference.

yea we need a balancing patch. Melee is god awful and its literally suicide to run as a melee unit like assault because the parry system is TRASH to the highest degree.

Most perks are basically useless to a degree because it offers very situational scenarios that most of the times your never gonna put yourself through because its too risky, health is like gold in this game and once your below even 40% hp? thats it because it would be a GOD GIVEN MIRACLE to get past that percentage on any higher then average difficulty

Armor is so useless its insane to me who thought "yea so were gonna add this armor system and its good against ranged attacks but melee? yea they take an entire bar" which contradicts the whole point of having those armor bars because literally they send more MELEE UNITS then ranged units.

Another big thing is most classes and take this with cold hard truth cause it is, are GARBAGE, vanguard is literally a trashier version of tactical with a grappling hook that has no legit purpose besides "ha it looks cool" heavy's ability is trash because by the time you see those ranged units? they are already dead by either you or your teammates so having that barrier? is garbage like give heavy missiles like terminator does as his ability or just keep it simple with having ammo restored back to your primary and secondary weapon because ya know? YOU GOT NO MELEE. Sniper, tactical and bulwark are legit the only real essentials because Assault will just get swarmed then bodied.

What needs to be done to make the game better? Hp gain per execution so give the player half of the quarter bar of hp so where as you see 4 bar segments? just give half a quarter of health per execution. Replace vanguards ability entirely. Just make heavy's ability give ammo to him and his teammates to make him a tactical support for harder difficulty's where it offers less ammo. Make melee actually good and not suicide. rework the armor where any melee unit only takes half a bar or a quarter of a bar varying how many are there.

thats how you can improve the game focus/saber

I really hope they do something because I want to like the game but the combat right now does not feel rewarding and I mostly just feel like I'm getting battered around and never given the chance to regain my footing in a tough fight.

I have to disagree about the Vanguard. In PvE I am usually the only one who can quickly kill the elites up on ledges and platforms before they can deal significant damage, because I can simply grappel to them. In PvP the grappel is also the bane of many an enemy, because they simply cannot deal with a guy that flies towards you and proceeds to knife your guts out. Except Heavies. ♥♥♥♥ Heavies.

I like this class. Sure, it's not omnipotent, but its definitely a class that derives its worth from player skill and can be damn strong in the right hands (for the record - I am just as often not the right hands)

Yeah wait until a balance patch fixes this. They clearly didn't test this anywhere passed average difficulty. You'll get waves of 200 enemies with 10 warriors that need 15 strikes with melee until you can kill them. And the difficulty in getting supplies like ammo between crates when they literally have a class specifically devoted to shooting with no melee exasperates the issue. I just did Inferno and before even getting through the first 100 meters I was already out of las fusil ammo because of the amount of warriors, I then proceeded to run out of bolt pistol ammo because a neurothrope spawned in as a boss and you can only even melee them when they're doing AoEs on the ground.
