In The Grim Dark Of The Far Future There Is Only Ma`am
Via: Lack Of Entertainment

The nature of the Astartes process requires a younger aspirant - and the implantation surgery basically makes it so that the neophyte doesn't mature into a man or a woman, but a MARINE.
Aside from one or two minor differences, yeah, they'd pretty much look identical.
They're not space marines.
There can't be female space marines because in the lore females wouldn't survive it. The primarch were made in the emperor's vision as his sons and his own DNA was used to create them. The emperor isn't going to be making any new primarchs any time soon and sure as ♥♥♥♥ isn't going to be resurrected to specifically make female space marines just for the sake of diversity plus it was likely determined that men would be physically superior in general - as we all know both men and women are very different to one another.
I guarantee you, GW will make it so Cawl found a way to do it. He already complained about the Emperor not making female marines.
The official artwork in the video I just posted proves the lore doesn't matter, however I'm still laughing.
As we both know there are females in lore positions of power, just not generally this one, I'm still laughing.
They're not even remotely space marines. They're basically normal humans, like Guardsmen, Nobles, etc, that go through a lot of training. Some will get Augmetics, and they do go through rigorous training, but even throwing something like that out there muddies the water of discussion.
If someone is too stupid to understand the difference between the two, you're just going to confuse them more.
As to "genetically similar to a primarch".... Gene seed is indeed made from the parent primarch's genome so their genetics become more like their parent primarch, but I've never heard it said that they would ever reach a state that is "genetically similar to a primarch".
When it comes to "making the marines look more like their primarch", that is true but it varies greatly, not only between legion (In some legions its basically unheard of, while in other legions its common), but also between individuals.
Just as a example, space marines that looked like Horus was rather common in the Luna Wolves (Later the sons of Horus), But there was also plenty of space marines in the Luna Wolves that looked nothing like Horus.
Other then that they would likely be identical in power armor. Without it? Who knows.
