GW's stance towards diversity (official)
The Imperium Is Driven by Hate. Warhammer Is Not.
There are no goodies in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

None.

Especially not the Imperium of Man.

Warhammer 40,000 isn’t just grimdark. It’s the grimmest, darkest.

The Imperium of Man stands as a cautionary tale of what could happen should the very worst of Humanity’s lust for power and extreme, unyielding xenophobia set in. Like so many aspects of Warhammer 40,000, the Imperium of Man is satirical.

For clarity: satire is the use of humour, irony, or exaggeration, displaying people’s vices or a system’s flaws for scorn, derision, and ridicule. Something doesn’t have to be wacky or laugh-out-loud funny to be satire. The derision is in the setting’s amplification of a tyrannical, genocidal regime, turned up to 11. The Imperium is not an aspirational state, outside of the in-universe perspectives of those who are slaves to its systems. It’s a monstrous civilisation, and its monstrousness is plain for all to see.

That said, certain real-world hate groups – and adherents of historical ideologies better left in the past – sometimes seek to claim intellectual properties for their own enjoyment, and to co-opt them for their own agendas.

We’ve said it before, but a reminder about what we believe in:

“We believe in and support a community united by shared values of mutual kindness and respect. Our fantasy settings are grim and dark, but that is not a reflection of who we are or how we feel the real world should be. We will never accept nor condone any form of prejudice, hatred, or abuse in our company, or in the Warhammer hobby.”

If you come to a Games Workshop event or store and behave to the contrary, including wearing the symbols of real-world hate groups, you will be asked to leave. We won’t let you participate. We don’t want your money. We don’t want you in the Warhammer community.

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/11/19/the-imperium-is-driven-by-hate-warhammer-is-not/ (2021)

Also Warhammer is for everyone

https://x.com/warhammer/status/1268665798467432449 (2020)

If you have an ideological problem with this statement or those who support it, reconsider your position within the community.

This community has a problem with widespread manipulative rhetoric where everyone who speaks for, neutral or against, feeds it.

A fake problem is being created, inflating it with a biased narrative and fracturing the community.

In the end, an extremely toxic and hostile environment is created for everyone, as those who do not follow the rhetoric look down on those who do, regardless of which "side" they have taken.

the wokespotters and politicspotters also feed it.

It's unfortunate that they even need to issue a statement like this.

How far gone is everyone that they conflate the real world with a grimdark fantasy world.

How sensitive is the real world that you have to actively condemn nazi's and other hate groups in an official stance. "You're not welcome" is common sense. These groups know they're not welcome, they do not care.

Well I think Kanye actually tops Alex. XD. He's gone nuts on AJ's show before and it was hilarious watching AJ getting uncomfortable. Fun stuff.

It was pretty wild. Alex was just there confused and Kanye's tard-wrangler Nick, was from what I remember, mainly silent through the whole thing while Alex tried his best to steer the interview and conversation away form what Kanye kept babbling about. He also made those weird tweets later saying that Balenciaga was "based". Bear in mind, this was during the time that company was drawing some heavy fire for being openly stupid and saying the quiet part out loud. I think he got nuked from Xwitter after that.

It was very disturbing to see Kanye doing that Balenciaga trash especially after what came out about the company. Both Nick and Kayne are obvious grifters and bad people. Alex Jones is funny and entertaining IMO but is obviously a turn off for most people when he starts clowning.

I appreciate your opinion Captmuffinman.

Let's try to stay on topic instead of obsessing over well established information.

There's a clear divide between reality and fiction, and people shouldn't use the anti-social behavior exhibited in Warhammer as justification to promote real life hate speech, and hate groups.

Again, I'm not this person you seem to be obsessed with. And yes, we have proven that I am NOT that user. But you seem to think people who post opposing you and your viewpoint are them. I'm glad we could reach an accord. Also, that's some NBA-tier reach. I don't think anyone who legit plays the TTG would openly promote andor do the things you mention. That'd be dumb. But people like you love stand on your moral pedastals and accuse people of "heresey" at the slightest hint of any push-back.

You seem to be awfully defensive over it. Protesting too much is often associated with guilt, so it makes sense that you keep bringing it up rather than talking about the actual topic, especially when I already provided proof.

An entertainment company has no right to lecture or excommunicate it's fans, no matter how bad. It has no moral auhtority for that.
Easy there, Aristotle. A company has every right to deny service to whomever they deem. Think throwing an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out of a movie theatre.

“Oooh, this surely wasn’t aligned with your categorical imperative, no sir!”

You do realize that is the same moral framework that can be used to deny service to those of varying ethnicity, right?

Oh no doubt. Nicks' platform is more or less dead as he has either banned and or removed the people that were giving him traffic and money. And his AF show is nothing but cringe from the clips I've seen of them. As for Kanye, that guy went totally off the deep end. I guess boinking one of the kardashians awhile back (she's with some other cringe loser celeb now) made his ego go into super-orbit way back. As he got more popular, he suffered from what was George Lucas'downfall. He had no one to tell him "No" because he surrounded himself with "Yes"men who wold smile and nod at anything he pitched. And yeah, Alex is hilarious to watch when he spurgs out. Kinda like watching and or listening to Ghost Politics. That guy I swear is his long lost brother. See also, his shouting match with Ethan Ralph. 200% comedy gold. I don't agree with Alex, but it's certainyl entertaining watching the fires burn.

You have no proof. Only conjecture and obvious lies.

I agree with you especially about Kanye and yeah there's something cursed about the Kardashians. Bro literally survived that with mental damage. But Nick Fuentes' platform started free falling after he got raided by the FBI. He didn't go to jail so a lot of people have speculated that he made some kind of deal with the FBI and now his community is basically a fed honeypot. Unconfirmed of course. AJ gets a lot right but he undermines it with his antics and the times when he gets things REALLY wrong.

Equating social justice with hate movements does not work.

Stop trying to push that narrative.

It's hardly a "narrative" when they all turn out equally anti-Semitic, for some reason. If I had a nickel for every-time a "social justice movement" ended up anti-Semetic, I'd have 25 cents at minimum, including only 1900 and later.

Every vilain is a hero in his own head.

I'm too old to believe fairy tales. I only look at deeds and methods. And I don't like what I see.
Nothing at all.

God I wish you were right.

Damage Case eredeti hozzászólása:

Yeah, ok. Btw, Sony is having a sales week (which almost never does) on Steam, trying to damage-control the complete financial failure of Concord, most probably bought on them by the unfortunate idea to include ppl like you.

edit: Meanwhile, GW is suffering a serious backlash for the first femStodes appearance in "Tithes".

edit 2: Cry some moar

So question. What specifically makes Concord woke? And how does the woke make the game fail? Don't just use buzzwords like "Oh it's clearly DEI!" or something like that. Explain why the wokeness caused the game to fail

In general to be "Woke" is to put the maxims of Diversity, Equality/Equity, and Inclusion at the expense of all other factors in the act of creating media, policy, and personal relationships. This is a thing that scales and is only a simple binary when detecting presence rather than amount of presence. Ergo a person is not "woke" when the maxims of Diversity, Equality/Equity, and Inclusion are no where near the proverbial design document, let alone a personal priority.

Conversely to be "anti-Woke" is to SPECIFICALLY rail against the maxims of Diversity, Equality/Equity, and Inclusion. Naturally this is somewhat outlandish, and only really exists in very specific pockets of the internet and society and never really hit any sort of mainstream appeal, at least by this definition.

The thing that sunk Concord was a multitude of factors, from zero advertising, striking while the iron is ice cold and diving onto a dry trend of game, having lackluster game mechanics, ugly as sin models, and the worst of all. They ape a trend and artstyle that just plain ANNOYS the average person. People don't hate it because they hold an ideological opposition to "woke" media, they hate it because due to factors out of their control, they have been fed a constant stream of asset management firm back media slop since 2008 and they are just plain sick of it. Concord is just the emblematic wicker man that people want to burn in effigy to make themselves feel better.

Yeah. Which is wild considering that like Baked Alaska ratted out a whole bunch of people. Speculation is he turned in loads of powerchat "receipts" to the FBI in exchange for not being locked up longer like everyone else. He also claimed to have found major religion, but I'm sure that was part of his grift as well. I seem to recall that shaman guy got out before him. Meanwhile, you had Nick basically pulling a Xerxes, just sitting back and telling his "groyper" meatshields to charge the capitol. And yeah, Nicks's platform cozy.gov, sorry I mean cozy.tv is pretty much a leaking cheap rubber dinghy at this point. He's effectively de-platformed everyone who has funded him. Mind you this from the the guy who claimed to found that platform to protect free-speech. I know he got lots of political scrutiny for basically sweeping for a PDF over and over. I know he is still salty over Kanye using Milo by proxy to fire him from the Ye'24 campaign. I still remember Kanye's political ad for his campaign. It legit has him talking with Milo and the look on Milo's face is priceless! Dude looks like he opened a septic tank cap and took a good, long whiff. Funny enough, Ralph and Baked have now teamed up again and have put aside all their bad blood (look up the Baked V Ralph kumite) to declare a blood war on Nick because he nuked them off his platform.

I still giggle at Nick's "debate" with Jim/cancer man metokur.

The other part of it I think was that Concord jumped into an already over-saturated hero shooter market. Add to that, I seem to recall the devs spazzed out and told people they didn't want their money or something.
And? Corporate statement from a corporation lol.
