RX 5700XT Crashing on 2nd campaign cutscene (with Magos) fix!

I and others with a AMD 5700XT video card have described the same crash at the beginning of the 2nd mission cut-scene. Here is my Temporary work-around. (This requires you to be in fullscreen (not borderless fullscreen) mode so you can fully minimize the game.)

After you have had the game freeze the cut-scene and crash out, boot the game back up.

On the main menu, hit the continue button.

Alt-Tab immediately and wait until you here the cut-scene start to play and then finish.*

Alt-Tab back in and off you go.

(You can also join a friend's game that is just past that cut-scene.)

*If you want to see some cut-scene you can alt tab earlier, but I don't know if there is a "too early" so attempt at your own wasted time.

Worked for me too, I think it's something up with the game concerning 5700xt cards. Just a shame we missed out on a cutscene :(

the cutscene can be viewed at a resolution of 800x600, but it's worth it to finish, and run a little, crash

It sounds like your just minimizing the screen correct? If so it's unfortunately not working for me.

I didn't see this post until just now, but I literally did the same thing and it worked! I have a 5700xt, I also tried reverted back to 24.7.1 to try. Guessing it might have crashed had I not alt-tabbed. But thanks for helping all the others!

Really? I tried running in 800 x 600 window and dumping graphics down to min and it still crashed for me. Did you run it 800 x 600 in fullscreen?

Were you in true fullscreen? I don't think it would work in borderless.

This only seem to be a problem for th 5700xt, I don't know about other cards and I'm fairly certain actual fullscreen in required and not borderless fullscreen.
