It’s 2000 now. Insane, really.
At least part of it is probably an attempt to poison the well. If brainrotted trolls constantly make over the top posts pretending to be LGBT people advocating for representation on games where that makes absolutely no sense, then when a genuine LGBT advocate makes a reasonable post for a game where it does make sense, the brainrot mob can decry it as just another bait attempt.
I'm reminded of the situation with Soulash 2, an indy game developed by a lone person, a couple weeks ago. A player asked the dev whether it was possible to expand the new marriage system that was just introduced to iallow same-sex marriages.
The developer did not, on the whole, respond to this in the best way he could have, making a lame excuse about how it would take a lot of effort to do so and he really wanted to focus on the new system in the next update instead. (It wasn't that difficult, modability is part of the game's appeal and a modder figured out how to do it in a couple of hours).
Some people called this out for the lame excuse it was and were moderately upset, not so much that the developer didn't want to put effort into doing this (there was already a mod to do it now, after all), but that he made up an excuse to not do it that was so easy to disprove. A few people wondered out loud whether homophobia was a motive for him making that excuse, but believed him when he said it wasn't.
And then a torrent of threads very similar to the one hitting this forum now hit the one for Soulash 2, combined with the developer getting love-bombed by right wing chuds on the forums and twitter for his 'brave stance' of not giving in to 'the woke mob'.
A week later, the dev made a slightly deranged official Steam update post about how he was the victim of 'extremists' where he thanked the 'reasonable people' who stood by him (naming a couple of people including a known far right youtuber), the mod that allowed same-sex marriage was deleted off the workshop and the maker of it banned and now two weeks later that developer's twitter feed has morphed from occasional development updates to a constant stream of anti-woke conspiracy nonsense and tweets that are obviously dogwhistles fed to him by his new 'friends'.
The whole situation's pretty f-ed up.
I’ll reply and read that properly once I’m at my pc
More like a “ heads up”
Yeah, except even that isn't about "inclusivity" at all, as it's just one of the powers of space marines :
"Melanochrome - The Melanochrome, also called the Skinshield, is the 13th gene-seed organ. This hormonal implant is attached to the Human lymphatic system and controls the amount of melanin in a Space Marine's skin. Exposure to high levels of sunlight will result in the Astartes' skin naturally darkening to compensate. It also protects the Space Marine from other forms of electromagnetic radiation. Different levels of radiation cause variations of skin colour in different Chapters due to mutations in the Melanochrome organ's gene-seed. This can be related to the unusually pale skin of the Blood Angels and their Successor Chapters and the dark black skin and red eyes of the Salamanders."

And in every new popular game there are those ragebaiters making nonsensical threads. They were in the Helldivers 2 forum too, for example, the exact same threads. So I don't believe in them being genuinely concerned about the subjects they talk about. They're just trolls and jester farmers and peoples keep falling in their traps, again and again, feeding them.
Don't award them, don't argue much either, just report and disregard what they say alltogether. That's the best behavior you can have with these trolls.
Oh i have to read, dig up stuff further about that, despite being f-ed up the story/situation itself is “ interesting “
Half the threads now start with ( not bait ) , ( bait ) or ( serious) and only the community is to be blamed for it.
The behaviour was rewarded so it’s replicated

What would those be?
Nah. I've been playing 40K Tabletop since 3rd edition and none of the people I play with, most of whom are, like me, people who have been playing 40K for over 15 years think female Custodes are bad.
Most are at least somewhat positive about it, the few that aren't simply don't care because they don't play Custodes.
The only people at my FLGS whining about female Custodes are the new kids who like to pretend that 'The Lore' for 40K is immutable to serve their culture war agenda.
In my time I've seen the Squats go from part of the Imperium to completely whiped out by the Tyrannids to an alien species that's allied with the Tau and then to being their own unique army who aren't and have never been part of the Imperium.
I've seen the Necrons go from mindless Terminator (the movie, not the tactical dreadnoughts) rip-offs to Tomb Kings in space.
When I started playing, the Grey Knights weren't a thing and the lore at the time said something like them was impossible. Primaris Marines also didn't exist and the lore at the time said they were impossible. Roboute Guiliman was dead and the lore said he was never coming back.
And yet none of the people complaining about GW 'going woke' being against 'The Lore' are upset that Titus crosses the Rubicon Primaris at the start of this game and the Ultramarines in the game talk about their Primarch being alive.
All these culture war tourists didn't start caring about 'The Lore(tm)' until GW went "Hey, the Custodes who we've barely ever talked about in depth? Now that we're fleshing out their lore we've decided some of them are women." because apparently GW playing loosey-goosey with their lore for decades to sell more models was fine and dandy up until some of those models were women.
