Good on you.
I like the idea of heavy, but have barely any ammo most of the time while leveling makes this class extremely unfun to play.
PVE missions are way too ammostarved, and maybe it's the "bigger number" of the higher tier weapon fix that, but it still means that you are stuck with a very unfun game where you'll completely run out of ammo fast and don't even have a mele weapon to make up for it, or find a ammo crate and are forced to camp on it.

This is 100% the fault of teammates.
Every single ammo pack between Caches is eaten by non Heavies.
Even had the jump pack guy literally take an ammo pack from right in front of me while i had 9 Pistol rounds and 0 Heavy Bolter rounds left. Had to then do the entire next part of the mission purely as melee for lack of ammo.
And they STILL kept taking all the ammo packs.

I'm guessing the dev intent was for the team to funnel ammo to a Heavy if one is present while the melee focused classes just top up at caches.
Unfortunately the average player only considers themselves and will pickup every ammo pack they see if they are missing so much as a single bullet.

I havent had any ammo problems much. With my reserve perks my melta has 40 shots and that's more than enough to get me to the next ammo chest. Or alot of combat is in a vicinity of ammo chests in general so it's not to bad.

(Yeah I do hog ammo packs though cause I've always had the highest dps output lol)

Well, kinda. Yes there is a lot of very low IQ teamates that will just goble every pickups they find without a thought, but then again, expecting the whole team to suddenly stop using their guns (which are also very ammo starved for some reason) just so you can play as heavy is unfun for everyone.

No one is asking them to stop using guns entirely. But if you have a Heavy in squad, dont eat the ammo packs unless you are yourself absolutely desperate for ammo.
Though even then, That ammo will do far more work for a Heavy than in a Bulwarks Pistol, lol.

Or at the very least, see if the Heavy needs it before taking it yourself.
