That's how i play, as a distraction, getting the flanks & picking off the loner. the 1v1 is easy but i like said, depending on how skill the other player is he can instantly roll away while stunned? yes there are times i land in the middle of them just to do damage & assets, i do my best to quickly get out of there. i just got 18 kills in my last game as the assault class & that's my personal record. yay me. & you cant instantly jump away because there is an animation when lending & by the time the animation is finish your dead.
Now in SM2 their melee does no stagger. You can just shoot them in the face, and you will win the damage trade. Their ground pound has such a long animation if you see it coming you can just casually shoot them dead in mid air. It's funny cause Assault was not even the best class in SM1 PvP. But would commonly kill newbies so I bet the developers played like an hour of SM1 PvP, and came to the conclusion Assault should be nerfed into the ground lol.
You can perfectly 1V1 people as long as they didn't saw you comming (ie don't just jump infront of them, that won't work) and they are the master at literally jumping to the aid of your allies.
I would say that the assault class is most likely the hardest to master. So i can only recommend to stick with your team and make no solo experiments for now till you become better. As you said yourself, timing is key and it can take time to learn it ;-)
True but anyone can kill anyone in this if they don't see you coming as the time to kill is fairly fast. You can kill most people faster with a gun if they don't see you coming. The only thing Assault has going for it is being able to reach some high places that might making surprising people easier.
I wonder if upgrades and skill tree make any difference? someone maxed any good build?
"guarantee you I could 1v1 you"
Let me guess, you are the type that stands infront of main citys in MMOs, spamming duell requests till people block you ...
I dont even play pvp in SM2, my tip was based on logic and 30 years expierence in gaming. and also some kind of last resort. Because if im honest, im pretty sure the pvp in SM2 will never be what it was in SM1 and do you know why? This is simply a complete diffrent game from a complete diffrent developer that has no respect for what SM1 actually was in my opinion. On top of that, they have no clue about pvp, they said so themselfs. The game is also oberrun by cheaters and all the devs did was implementing EAC. But im sure they have noone that looks into cheater reports, im pretty sure they ignore them all. They also have no respect for 40K lore, but claim otherwise for marketing reasons in my opinjon. Im also pretty sure that the upcoming content will not be what most people expect. In other words, this game will most likely not survive as long as SM1. You can trust me when i say that there is most likely noone who is more sad about that then me. This game is really not what i expected, but it is at least still kinda fun to play. Even if i have to pump a whole mag into a nid warrior with my heavy relic bolt rifle and a developer who thinks lowering enemy hp is the solution for this, when it actually only buffs op meltas even more ... doh :-/
At least they have interest in making coop content and im thankfull for that as coop fan ;-)
Im sure they will buff the assault aswell in any way, the question is if people gonna like it ...
I like to jump in the middle of my enemies when the perk which gives 10% cooldown per enemy killed lets me hop all over most of the minoris enemies in a wave like an insane rabbit.
Yeah that sounds kinda fun xD
