Amazing how weak Space Marines are.
Even on low difficulty, a couple normal mobs nuke your armor in a couple hits. Yet all even common mobs are bullet sponges.

I often find myself wanting to ditch the armor so I can move faster to kill things. Since one would think being in this armor you'd take a lot of hits to bring down. In fact you're in a wet noodle unable to move to avoid all the attacks needing to hide lol.

Been a decade since I played the first one, But I don't remember being so weak and having to hide from everything. Maybe I did?

Great game, just you look cooler than what you are.

played all those games and havent died once and im playing above easy.
sounds like it has been a humbling experience for you.

No offence but folk like you are insufferable. Just because someone's having a different experience to you doesn't mean their opinion is any less valid. We get it tho, you are incapable of dying in any video game. Well done.
i have much the same sentiment towards you and your cringey self-plugged reddit post. i found that comment especially egregious because the guy was trying to invoke his (unremarkable) experience in other games he played as if it granted him the authority to declare sm2 itself is flawed (overtuned, by name) when the game is surmountable -- especially on the game mode literally tagged Easy. at some point people need to humble themselves and realize they have more to learn and understand about the game and not just whine

the game is meant to be challenging and give you close shaves & you cant just bumble through it.

i can think of a few points that stick out that are very tricky and challenging - like the mission 2 generators - and almost sent me back to respawn. its not like im perfect, but for me the fun is overcoming the challenge the devs placed, not whining on the forums the game is flawed. maybe we do not share that perspective

He's dying on easy though. That's literally game journalist difficulty.

Like I would at least understand if it was on normal.

No, game journalist difficulty would be below even easy. They're often not gamers other than at an extremely casual level, as they went through life studying and doing political activism. That leaves very little room for gaming. Even when they play for reviews, writing the articles takes time away from gaming.

Meanwhile, the gamer who spends hundreds of hours playing games like these is rarely equipped to create coherent and readable review articles.

The game isn't as hard as people make it out to be, it just requires you to threat assess properly and take out the high priorities first. Plus you get rewarded for it by executing the bigger enemies and nuking anything around it.

Bruh, Tyranids are nasty critters...Gene Stealers can rip through Terminators like they were made of paper lmao...
Rending Claws go brrrr.

I love how ppl keep saying this ♥♥♥♥ while in the first game the melee was so bad that on hard difficulties it wasn't an option. If you tried to use an execution you would just be gunned down mid animation. Blinded by nostalgia

OP, are you mentally disabled?
Neonivek 6/set./2024 às 16:04
You fight people without power armor in the game... and they die in a single hit... While other enemies with power armor are extremely difficult to kill.

Remember that Space Marines, while elite warriors, are not "Wade through an army single handedly" so much as each Space Marine is worth 10+ soldiers.

it's amazing how powerful the Tyranid are. o_O
lol, seriously, anyone who's played the tabletop boardgame "Space-Hulk" knows that power armor against Tyranids holds up about as well as a paper bag to a chainsaw. XD
Exactly. Same goes for the Deathwing game. Its funny that so many people see to think that every Space Marine wears some sort of nigh indestructible Plot Armor. Which isnt the case, at all.

problem is, lore accurate marines are absolutely doom guy. And potentially then some extra added on top.

There's a reason when they made 'movie marines', a full unit of 10 was an entire army. The marines are absolutely weaker than they should be.
Space Marines are scary doomguys not just because of their biology and armor, but because they are extremely skilled warriors that have dedicated their whole life to combat and, in a lot of cases, have served in active duty longer than the lifespan of the average mortal.

Tyranids aren't brainless animals. They will go for weakpoints in your armor, and the bigger ones can just straight up penetrate ceramite like it's a slice of bread. This translates into the game too - if you're going to just stand there and eat hits you're going to die.

So... use those parry and dodge buttons. You're not fighting random hive scum. You're fighting 2.5m tall bioweapons evolved to kill you.
Ah for me personally, I am playing on the recommended difficulty (2nd highest, whatever that is). I fully recognise that I ain't the gamer I was 25 years ago and feel it a lot more on more difficult, skill intensive games.

I'm not complaining about the difficulty, Only the fact that the armour is paper lol. But then, while yes in the lore a marine can stand up to more than they would here, you're talking about them going 3 vs like 50 in some instances, so I guess it's understandable that they can shred you if you let them.

if your struggling on the lowest difficulty, the player isnt weak you just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ suck.

Of course I'm bad at the game, But no matter how bad I am it doesn't change the fact that when you look at this power armor, one would think you would be stronger than a normal person with no armor. And you're not.

No skill needed. Just stand without moving or shooting in front of a common mob and within a couple hits your armor is completely gone lol.
Compare that to Darktide, where you have no "power armor" and can move much quicker, I'm able to take far more hits and I'm just as terrible at that game too.

Look up what tyranids are

depends on the difficulty

Look up what bolters are and the strengths of a space marine.

Bolters in this everything base level on the easiest difficulty in operations it takes 3-4 bolts to kill a base tyranid... When based off lore it can pen through about 4 of these ♥♥♥♥♥.

Now at max level bolt weapons it takes 2 bolts... Much power much wow... Did I mention the difficulties just increase elite enemy amounts and other bosses?

The level of balance is way out of whack.

If you're talking about operations I think space marines should be 1 to 1 a bit weaker than tyranid warriors. Even the primaris stuff is quite a bit weaker than a nid warrior especially in melee aside from some edge cases like the bladeguard vets on the tabletop.
