The Power Fist
So I admit I'm not the greatest at the game. Still trying to figure out the Bulwark as a class and am struggling pretty hard with parrying, but my complaint isn't based purely on my skill issue. The Power Fist just seems.. bad. It's slow. Obnoxiously slow. Slow enough that, despite claiming higher damage, the other weapons are better at dealing it. And contrary to what one would think, does basically zero poise damage, meaning it has basically no advantage over the other two choices. Even when I charge the attacks it takes a full combo to get half their armor down, which is absolutely not an option when I'm knee-deep in a swarm. I really want to use it but the Power Sword and Chain Sword just feel infinitely better to use, both against hordes and single targets. Am I just not using it right, or is this a general consensus?

I feel the same way. I can tell it's horde clearing capabilities is basically nonexistent. It really needs more stagger or something because the wind up of the heavy doesn't trade well when you're looking at more than 2 or 3 at a time. Sometimes I want to swap over to the hammer because that felt more impactful than the fist. I'm holding out on it tho. I'm using it as the assault and it's serviceable. It just needs to stagger better and knock things back better. Because right now I can't even swing into a group of 5 without feeling like I'm doing no damage. I often times just resort to shooting at range before I commit to melee.

Even if I try to use the combos it has, the issue of it not staggering things well just messes up any chance of doing the combos. I find the most effective thing to do is to just spam the dodge/running attack with the 25% boost to dmg that the assaults first perk does.

But that really only works for single target so a group situation is still lacking. I hope they either buff it or I'm just stupid and not playing it correctly with my team.

I'll honestly see if my opinion on it changes once I unlock a more endgame version of it.

I've noticed that a guardsmen using bayonet can stagger a warrior, space marine can't do with their "powah" fist, stupid stats design.

For the bulwark I really enjoy the Plasma pistol + power sword (use the power sword delayed strike for the most part)

Balance is the death of power-fantasy games.
Warhammer 40k was never meant to be a tactical fps, it was meant to be Gears of war esk.

Ok, so you might have already learned this but if you want to parry with a bulwark you need to double tap your parry button and the game seems to take half a second to see if you are parrying or just blocking with your shield, also don't use BLOCK defence weapons because you cant parry with them, not properly at least.
As for the inability to effectively clear hordes, im hoping the ability that switches Thrust Jab with Ground Shake will help with effectively clearing hordes

You have to learn to parry for power fist to be good.

Having gotten almost to the end of the power fist weapons, I have to agree. The power fist doesn't have enough pros to out do the cons. For the bulwark its just better to use the power sword for me, and for the assault, screw using anything but the chainsword cause I feel the thunder hammer (also getting almost to the end of those weapons) again just doesn't have the speed or damage to really compete. For the fist its due to the horde and for the thunder hammer its the warriors.

Power fist was for assault more than bulwark. I've used power fist quite a bit and it's doing pretty good. Little weirded out about cutting things in half on perf parry with a fist but when in warhammer! Overall you'll want to use heavy strikes usually like sprint strikes. It's like any other weapon though and has a positive and negative. Avoid the block fist if option is there other than to master it.

The power fist is built around the charged attacks, and the enemies are built around laughing at you attempting to do charged attacks.

I would like to charge my powerfist on the go,
