Have messed around with all the settings, only time I can get over 65FPS is when everything is set on low. There's got to be a issue here.
In simple terms, laptop gaming is not good for games like this, older games from 2017, sure you can run those and some indie games or low graphics games like minecraft.
But get a desktop pc, laptop is mediocre at gaming
Have even lowered resolution from 1440p to 1080p, to see if that made any difference but it didn't.
Going through driver and software updates now, see if anything is out of date, so far nothing that I can see though.
You should be getting 60~80 fps on Ultra at 1440p with that. I'm assuming you're on the latest driver, if so it won't hurt to downgrade it to previous version and see how it goes from there. DDU if necessary.
Okay, so there was a couple of updates chipset and stuff, but unfortunately still no joy this end.
Thanks, I'll try downgrading my NVIDIA driver see if that helps the problem.
Tried old NVIDIA driver made it actually worse, on low settings getting just over 60FPS now.
I think it just going to need a patch or optimizing for this generation of hardware.
That's the weird thing, I'm getting very similar FPS no matter what settings. Maybe a 5fps increase at most between low and High.
I've just switched between full Ultra, High and Medium presets while stood on the bridge where it bounces between 40fps and 60fps and at best there was a 3fps bump to the low end. That can't be my system chugging if there is only a minuscule change in performance when switching between presets.
That's what I was thinking, usually there's at least a reasonably noticeable difference.
