Intel Core i9-13900K is above 90 degrees with 140 Watts of power

Guys, you gotta patch this game asap, because my i9 is insanely hot with proper water cooling installed and all. My first stream with pre release was horrible.

In normal stress test I can see 90 degrees Celcius with like 250-340 Watts on CPU.

My specs:
ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO BIOS ver 1503
Intel Core i9 13900K
ASUS ROG Strix LC II 360
Kingston Fury Beast Black DDR5 - 4x 16ГБ 4800МГц
GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GV-N4090GAMING OC-24GD 24ГБ GDDR6X

Idk what is the engine of this game, but its doing wrong things with cpu.

The Raptorlake series CPUs, that is 13th and 14th gen, have been found to have a defect; admitted by Intel; that makes them heat up so much that they melt the silicone, causing permanent damage.

Your motherboard manufacturer should have an updated BIOS firmware to download that has Intel recommended power settings added to it. Install it to save yourself from permanent oxidization.

Hey! Thats a great post and point of view. My BIOS ver was 1102. Updated to 1503. Now its Intel default profile with 253 Watts by default and all.
Same issue with 85-91 C with 60 fps ultra 1080p settings.

Its evident this game makes CPUs run hot. And quite frankly modifying your setup just to play one game should never be solution.

The 13900K has been known to run hotter than the Devil's a s s hole to begin with. So it's no surprise that you have that issue.

No we should not stop - There are problems with I7/I9 chips and it is known.
People have to update their BIOS and undervolt.
a game should not thermo-throttle a modern and powerful CPU.
But as most people in Steam forum are not monitoring properly, they do not understand.
i have a very good water cooling and before i update my BIOS and undervolt, i had very high temp on my I7 with some CPU heavy game (unreal engine 5 for example)
Gamer Nexus that is a reference is handling test and notice such issues, Intel admitted it was a batch with failures plus Motherboard companies were having crazy BIOS set up.
I was going over 1.6V before i set this up properly, and there is no CPU usage for gaming PC that needs 1.6V, it will just damage your chip.
Higher voltage means higher temp (in general)
The intelligent ones should monitor the Voltage of their CPU and try to bring it to an adequate set up (1.4), if problem still persist with thermo throttling, there is a CPU failure.

Pray tell then - what sort of Intel model is AMD Ryzen 5600h or 7800X3D which exhibit the very same extra 20 degree celsius higher temps only in this game?

It is at low load, 20-110 Watts. And its Intel recommended BIOS settings in last 1503 version for ASUS MB.
It is 1.24 Volts at high load till 253 Watts. In a CPU-Z stress test for example.
This game cant load my CPU that high. All this overheating story is just game bug, nothing more.

lmao dude has no idea how computers work... cpu temps have always been a YOU issue... your paste, cooler, case config etc..... in sm2 my r7 3700x with a basic air cooler runs at 78% util at 59c and 64c hot spot temps....
