Crashing when joining specific friend?

Every time I attempt to join my buddys battle barge my game freezes and crashes, we've spent hours trying to work this out. We queued seperately for multiplayer and everything worked fine. But as soon as we got into each others lobbies (not even partied up) the same thing happened and I crashed. Anyone getting this problem?

yup i have the same problem. soon as i accept the invite both our pc's freeze and crash. looking forever for a solution..

Yes here is the same problem. If I try to connect to my Girlfriends session the game stopps and crashes. Need a Workaround asap

Tried different things, Disable Steamoverlay, Disable Crossplay, Run the game as Admin, verify the game installation, complete reinstallation.

So I managed to get around this, and it could be one of two things. Me and my buddy had nicknames set for each other, and when we removed them the crashing stop. But we also both reinstalled at the same time, so give both a go?

I'm actually so pissed off right now, because my friends and I could have been playing for 2 days but we couldn't because I kept crashing!!!!!! It was the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nicknames all along.

No problem guys, I was really frustrated as it seems like such a ridiculous issue to have, I doubt even the devs could foresee it happening, so I've sent them an email so hopefully it'll get patched out.

Whenever I join my girlfriend she freezes, whenever she joins me her game gets stuck at loading resources infinitely. I’m at work rn but we are gonna try removing the nicknames we have for each other.

Yup this did it! My wife and I can now finally play this together...almost 2 weeks later...
