I have studio level audio equipment as I work in the media industry and this is one of the games where the audio feels off.
The gun shots lack punch and pop.
Sometimes music is poorly mixed in where its neither clear nor blended in well.
You have to really increase the volume otherwise things start sounding a little distant.
That's exactly the problem. You haven't heard the issue, because you can't hear anything. The game's sounds are muffled in some respect, like the chain sword is whisper quiet. What chainsaw you ever heard that is whisper quiet?
Try selecting "Virtual surround encodes surround audio as stereo output" in your systems onboard sound console/screen.
