For Intel Users - VERY IMPORTANT!
If you are getting constant crashes or the game doesnt even start and you happen to have a newer generation Intel CPU, then please do the following to get rid of all your crashing problems:

1. Download "Intel (R) Xtreme Tuning Utility
2. Lower the "Performance Core Ratio" for 2 units.

My initial Performance Core Ratio was at 52x. So i lowered it to 50x and since then:

- No crashes whatsoever.
- Game loads smoothly and runs smoothly.
- No problems with interface overlays, anti-cheat, NVIDIA Experience etc.

I really hope that this will help alot of you. Cheerz

The core issue is that the game takes all threads it can get while treating E cores as P cores.

People crash because of overheating, or because their undervolting is unstable with SM2, just as a comparison, SM2 is harder on your CPU as prime95 on its most evil setting.

They just have to fix how the game handles threads, and yes, this is a bug.

It's not only that the temps get high, you also get insane VIDs that you absolutely should not see while playing a game. For example, an Intel 13/14th gen CPU, WITHOUT the recent microcode, can absolutely die by running this game.

I have made it to the main menu for the first time all day, thank you for this work around. I have no Iron Halo to give, but here are some points instead brother.

Are you saying doing the above might kill my poor Processor?

i9 13900k Rx 7900 XTX RedDevil liquid edition

without any problems with the game. Except for the connection problem Error code 14, the rest of the game runs smoothly.

Thanks for the completely useless addition to the thread.

No, it will just slow down your cpu. Honestly wait til they patch it, if you can't cool it.

Also if you are in 13 14th gen Intel, make sure you have the latest bios update, and undervolt your cpu, you can watch buildzoids videos on yt how to do it with your board.

For Intel Users - get AMD next time. 😂 I mean... seriously. after the 13/14th gen mess blew up, people still blame anything but the CPU when they run into any CPU realted problem? for real?

update your bios, I have i9 13900k no issues, stopped using extreme tuning utility when i updated my bios

I ran the leak and it ran my cpu so hot I could feel it without touching the chassis.

Hope it didn't do damage but I don't think it did!

It's the same for AMD, they also get higher temps because all threads are used. It just hits less hard.

It just hits Intel harder, because the game treats e cores as P cores. Again, DM2 gets higher VIDs then the most evil prime95 setting, this is definitely not intended behavior.

The game hast a threading issue,aka it's a bug.

Nah, it just downclocks or as a last measure turns off. The voltages is what can do the degrading. Just make sure your uptodate with the bios, and have all limits set correctly.

As additional security you can set a 1.400mv limit if your board has that option (or 1.450mv for the ks variants).

Also undervolting is your friend.

All undervolting did a year ago was make my pc unstable, so I'm back to stock.

Then you undervolted too much, that's why you have to test for stability and find the right value for your cpu.

Yes you may be on point with this one! I had the same issue with other games. After trying everything i could to run SM2 it didn´t work. Then i remembered that there was this one thing i didn´t try. And that was lowering the PCR for 2 units, just like i did in one other game. And it was a quick solution. But generally we really shouldn´t have to do this. I mean the developers should MAKE SURE that the game has been programmed in a way that covers these problems from the very start. I really don´t understand why they are not doing this...

Highest I ever did was -10mv.

I mean the behavior is their to see for everyone, people just like to ignore the facts these days.

Also keep in mind we are the testers. If we are lucky there will be a day one patch for the "real" release.
