Easy difficulty is not easy.
I'm pretty much enjoying the campaign so far, except for one thing. The EASY difficulty setting should be EASY. Accessibility is not just for color blindness and captions. People like myself with slower reaction times need easy difficulty to have generous timing for things like dodging, blocking, and parrying.

Please consider relaxing the timing on easy difficulty. It won't affect players who are looking for a challenge, and it will make the game a lot more fun for people like me.

maybe the game is just not for you. Not everything is for everyone.

It's a game. every game ever created to mankind has something you have to learn how to do. You have to learn to not make mistakes on tik tak toe. This is the same thing. Just practice a bit it's your first few hours playing it.

Get good.

I find the first op "Infernal" to be quit difficult on the easiest mode. Matchmaking is a slog, and if I play with Bots, I'm overwhelmed with bigger Zenomorphs. Playing with the Storm Hammer class.

It's not an issue of not knowing what to do, or whether the game is for me. I know enough to know that I am unable to play Soulslike games, for example, because my reaction time is too slow for parry and dodge timing in games like that. Those games typically lack difficulty settings, because the developers have a specific audience in mind. I have no problem with that at all.

But when a game has an easy difficulty setting, it should be easy enough that anyone can be competent at the game. Especially if the game has several other difficulty settings suitable for people looking for more of a challenge.

I know my limitations. I'm not going to attempt PVP in Space Marine 2. I'm not going to play co-op with random people who might be frustrated by my limitations. I enjoyed the original Space Marine campaign, largely because quick reactions were not essential to complete it.

Space Marine 2 has a lot going for it! Relaxing the reaction time requirements for the easiest difficulty in campaign or co-op wouldn't affect other players, wouldn't impact PVP, and it would make the game a lot more fun for players with physical limitations.

Easy Mode is actually just a trap to let the emperor know who's committing Heresy.
The parry (blue) is very different for the small enemies and the big enemies. For the smaller one, it's very forgiving, but I haven't figured out the timing for the big guys yes, and I don't have any disabilities. It's extremely sensitive, and the extreme input delay on your character doesn't match it. So, I feel your pain.

If you're bad, just practice more.

I hear you man. I haven't tried easy, but had to drop it to normal for one mission, and STILL got smoked!

This is a tough game!

Easy should be easy. That's exactly what it means, so hopefully they will tune it more as they go. It IS early access after all, I'm hoping a lot of bugs will be worked out over the coming months.

Until then, if you're still having fun, just keep playing and you will get better. Even after just a couple of hrs this morning, I could feel the combat system starting to click in for me.

If you're getting too frazzled, just remember that games are supposed to be fun, and try to take a break for a little while until you can come back to it feeling relaxed and in the right headspace again.

I agree with the op on this one. I am playing on normal without much problem but there are people with these kind of issues. Make easy, easy. The rest of us can just crank up the difficulty so I see no reason for them not to.

Easy and Normal need to be toned down.

People need a difficulty to learn, and a difficulty to adapt. That's what Easy and Normal are supposed to be for, but in this game I'm honestly struggling on both difficulties.

And I've been playing for five hours.

I feel the same way. Some games I want to grind on and practice (Sekiro) to be more proficient, and other games I just want to zone out and button mash just to get the experience of the setting, combat, story, etc. That’s what I think Easy should be for! Then if you get the rhythm of Easy down and you want to challenge yourself you can always increase the difficulty. It looked like you could change it at any point in the campaign.

Not everyone wants to play an F'n Soulslike in every game. Just because YOU can, doesn't mean that an "average" game then isn't "overturned" because YOU are used to games like that.

Do you get that? Champ?
