8 Hours in on hardest difficulty, impossible to continue solo.

The AI are useless, and to make matters worse they are unable to pull aggro for more than the time to takes for the Tyranid to blink, recognise you as "that one guy", and drop whatever it's doing to B-line it's way to Titus's sweet cheeks. Unfortunately I pre-ordered this game and have to wait for a day one patch.

Hardest Difficulty, Solo, Cargo Elevator.

Day One patch? For what? They aggro enemies fine for me xD
Also reading is hard i guess - it even says Veteran is the intended difficulty (for solo). Highest is for coop.

the elevator was VERY hard even on veteran in 2 player co-op.

yeah me and a friend are playing on the second hardest, the elevator is just impossible, 4 attempts, the snipers and shooters projectiles are clipping through the boxes so there is no cover to be had, Devs must fix this as this should have been noted in QA.

I'm stuck at the cargo elevator on solo. The worst part is I can't pick anything up other than ammo, everything else got bugged after several attempts

Nothing better than putting a a minute and a half of walking around swapping weapons and doing pick ups before starting the encounter and having the gargoyles fly around for 40 seconds before it finally starts. I'm playing on the hardest difficulty solo and this is just a DPS check for a single person. You literally can barely kill these gargoyles fast enough even if there were zero other enemies on the lift.

just beat it on angel of death. The only real problem i had was against final boss mechanic I won't spoil. The main thing you'll learn is you won't use like, 75% of your HP bar. That last tick, plus aiming for as many executions as possible for the invuln animation is vital to win. You also need to be on point for mechanics.

Cargo mission is the worst level I ever saw in a game, even FromSoftware game are easier, I did beat it after trying over 10+ times solo but it's just an horrible experience overall

So we weren't going crazy. The elevator is absolutely nuts with shots coming through the containers.
