Militaristic peak is the peak in 40k, because survival and dominance are the ultimate metrics of superiority. Extra fingers, faster thinking, or a lean build are meaningless if you can’t endure or overcome in combat. Evolution favors what survives and thrives under pressure, and in 40k, that’s military might. The Custodes weren’t built for lab experiments, they were built to crush any threat to the Emperor's will. That is the true pinnacle.

The true pinnacle would be using drones and orbital weapons to wipe out any threat. It was said that astartes are the peak human form and thats just not true. They were not created for that purpose. The purpose they serve is infantry, and infantry not only do not win wars, they are some of the least important parts of a military campagin. Yes they are important, but logistics and in the current/future age technological superiority are what wins wars.

Are they? I only saw an outraged bit about the game failing to dissociate Astartes from modern militaries by foregoing needlessly obtuse monastic knight stuff for regular XX-XXIst century milspeak.

Fair point about Primaris Marines being a lore mess, but the issue with female Custodes isn’t just about breaking lore, it’s about execution. If they’re indistinguishable from the male Custodes in terms of role and character, it feels tokenistic, like just slapping a female label on the same hyper-masculine archetype.

That said, Custodes are supposed to represent the pinnacle of human evolution. When I think of the pinnacle of the female form, it’s not a butch bodybuilder physique, it’s something more akin to Alederia: precise, agile, and elegant, but still deadly. A female Custodes should feel unique and embody that ideal in a way that complements their role, not just mirror their male counterparts.

Found the genie from RimWorld.

Wh40k is not "future age", though. Like most of sci-fantasy, it instead adopts aspects of warfare from very, very distant eras in the past.

That, I dare say, is a social construct. For much of history, the peak female form was pretty close to the Primitive Venus statues.

Also, consider this: all aspects of femininity have to do with, whether you like it or not, fertility. It's already perverted on some level to have an ideal woman that's deadly. It's doubly perverted to have her be/likely be infertile.

The devs have been weird about chaos. Each of the 6 classes are locked in to a specific chaos legion. Their reasoning is for visual class distinction. That's why assault is always Night Lords, heavy weapons are Iron Warriors, etc.

It's very gay. They dropped the ball on customisation for PvP in general. The first space marine game has WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better customisation options for both loyalists and chaos. SM2's options are limited and the interface is clunky.
