Serious lag playing solo?

For those who are still having this issue, it unfortunately seems todays patch didnt do anything to resolve it. However if you're still itching to play the game you've sunk your hard earned money into i would recommend either subscribing to or using the free version of GeForce Now, its a game streaming service, basically netflix but for games. This seems to be a solid work around for now and you'll be able to play the game without this awful connection/network issue, given its not the most ideal thing in the world but if it works it works right and you'll at least be able to play until they come out with a solid fix for this.

So myself and a fair few others have confirmed that formatting your drive/drives seems to do the trick and resolve this issue, i know this method wont be for everyone in which case i highly recommend using the method suggested in the edit above, at least for the time being while the devs work on a fix for this.

Just want to see if anyone else is having the same issue as i've not been able to find anything on this anywhere.

Game runs absolutely fine performance wise, FPS is solid and it looks absolutely spectacular. however, and before i get into this i understand its day one for the advanced access and this could very well just be a server problem (though i personally don't think it is)

I boot up the campaign get through the cutscene and have maybe about 5-10 seconds of the game running perfectly to then be hit by game breaking lag, i've played around with settings from lowest to highest and so on and none of those changes have had any impact, just have a little red connection icon in the top right of my screen while playing and can't seem to do anything, i've booted it up in both offline mode and also disconnecting my pc from the internet entirely and both times bizarrely i get that crisp 5-10 seconds then endless lag.

Anyone else having this kind of issue? any potential work arounds or is this just a server load thing?

I also had this issue, its random for me though, sometimes a cutscene will play fine, other times itll have little lag spikes, most recently froze at a black screen, yet was still playing the audio fine. You are absolutely not alone in this friend.

Yeah having the same issue think its due to the how many Nids are rendered at a time whenever im facing small group lag but serviceable large quantity's im stuck dodge hoping i can shoot then before they melee me from a mile away can't even counter them properly once it starts lagging hard

having same issue why in the name of god you'd have the campaign while playing single player still use an online sever is beyond me. doesn't matter if there is no nids on the screen or a horde like 3 seconds of fine then i get huge lag and network connection warning at the top of the screen.

Thank you brothers! fingers crossed its something thats addressed and fixed soon! good to know im not alone on this one! ive fortunately not had any game crashes yet its just been this constant lag, much more noticeable around areas where enemies spawn in, could be running perfectly then a group of tyranids appear and im basically back on Dial up connection.

Yep, same for me an buddy of mine. Lag in single player and co-op is barely working due to the same lal, although when I did training games for classes everything was fine. Guess we waiting till servers become more stable.

Well it massively sucks that we're having to deal with this but again im glad im not the only one! and in response to Munia's comment i absolutely agree, blows my mind that i need to be connected to some form of server to play offline single player! and as id mentioned it seems that even having your PC completely disconnected from the internet makes absolutely no difference!

Same here, almost impossible to fight nids as server issues are causing game breaking rubberbanding. weirdly everything besides the enemy's is running fine, however I'm also getting choppy audio that stutters and cuts out (not intended). Thinking I'll wait it out till tomorrow to try again, hopefully they'll sort this out.

Thats my plan too, was so hyped to get this going today but alas here we are. Glad you mentioned the audio because i was starting to think that was something performance based or something in my pc dying haha. But yeah every fight is rubberbanding like crazy & whenever that little server connection symbol pops up my audio gets real choppy and starts cutting out.

Yep red connection, lags, enemy lags/teleport. Second mission with protect tower is impossible finish solo.

I've not even managed to get through what i presume is the tutorial mission the lag has been that bad haha, and now im hearing it'll only get worse. Emperor Protect us.... i know i can skip the intro mission but i want to experience it all.

I'm experiencing what's described in this thread. I noticed it happens when it gets busy with swarms - the last part of the tutorial and then the first mission with the squad. Hopefully a fix is out soon. I've given up trying to tweak settings. I'll give this a bit of time, hope the devs put out a fix soon.

Can confirm. enemies slide around and rubber band when the red high-ping marker shows up on the top-right. My audio also keeps cutting out as well. Otherwise, my frames are stable and i don't experience any stuttering.

I also tried playing completely offline and disconnected my ethernet cable and issue still happens.
