Does this require the EGS to be installed or not?

To the folks who own this game. Did you have to install the Epic Game launcher to play Space Marine 2? I'm reading a bunch of conflicting information. I just wanna know the actual truth from the people who own the game.

Is the Epic Games launcher a requirement?

If no, do you still need to link an Epic account?

I read that it installs some software that allows crossplay between Epic and Steam, is that true?

Well its only ASKED me to sign in but didnt tell me I had to. I think its optional simply to link your games.

You don't need to install the Launcher - but it installs a micro version for dependencies if you plan to play cross "platform" with people from steam to epic.

Lets see, Epic game launcher NOT required
You dont need to link your epic account to steam
also it does auto install EGS (Epic game service, NOT STORE) which is used to crossplay but ive tried uninstalling that .... it just reinstalled it (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥)

Ugh thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I dont want their jank ass trash anywhere near my pc. Thanks for the heads up, im gonna pass and see what happens with all this. Between finding out they try to force their malware on my pc, and the tepid reviews so far, this sounds like its turning out to be a good ol dumpster fire

Is there a way to opt out of crossplay in the options? Or is it forced to be active?

I have the egs launcher and it wants me to delete it and reinstall. Then I'd have to reinstall any game I have installed with EGS what a mess. Why the ♥♥♥♥ is this a requirement to play a game I bought through Steam?
