Game crash on opening cutscene
My game loads fine and I can get onto the main menu fine. As soon as i try to play it just freezes on the opening cutscene. I can still here the audio playing throughout the entirety of the cutscen, its just the visuals arent playing. Any ideas?

I had the same issue and I have now found a fix, for those NVIDA users, go into your nvida control panel, then into manage 3d settings, then change power management mode to "prefer maximum performance"

the game still froze a little during the cutscene but I left it and the game eventually caught up, ran smooth as butter afterwards

My trouble seems similar, but after first mission my computer just freezed and then reload.

Developers, patches are welcome.

I've restarted my PC twice, verified my files, updated my GPU changed the resolution, started it in admin mode and tried running it in windows mode and it freezes at the intro screen. I can hear the cutscene continue but it stops eventually. I tried changing the priority to high but it won't allow me. It says I've played over two hours and that's only because I've tried to get the game to work so much and the load screen takes five minutes to load. I've waited thirteen years for this and I am so disappointed that I'm thinking of just getting a refund because this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.

Same issue here. Tried all of the work arounds I've seen and nothing has helped so far. :(

You need the game installed to an SSD to avoid the cutscene stutters and crash.

Same issue here, game just freezes on first cinematic. Can eventually play the game. So disappointing.

Having the same issue, consistently happens as the guard look to the sky 10 seconds in.

I found if you hold ENTER during the cutscene you can skip it. That's how I got through.

To give a bit more background, I had done the NVIDIA optimization mentioned above and was able to get the cutscene all the way to the end, at least the audio portion, the screen was still frozen and it wouldn't load. I reloaded game and hit "Continue" paused the game by hitting start on my controller, but then held enter down on my keyboard, and that skipped the cutscene.

Maybe something in there allowed me to skip, but skipping it was the only way i really made it through.
