You are 100% correct. This game don't give you the tools to stay alive.
I go back to darksiders one the "i am a spacemarine but i don't have the licence for it" game. There you have all the combos and glory kills to get hp back and yes you stand in masses of enemies. You slay small enemies to have the resources for the big ones and that was an endless ciricle.
In space marines to much is happening and you are way to squishy for an enemy. In the tabl top game, space marines have mostly for anything a saving throw, they are very hard to kill. In the lore they have massive regenrative abilies, that they heal mostly instandly from minor woundings and even regenerate organs in minutes. Only very heavy damage could kill them. But in this game it feels like your armor is out of paper and you hp kits are sacred artifacts.
I would even say, you feel even more squishy as in helldivers 2 and there you play cannon fodder...
Timing and flow of melee is just clunky and disjointed. Want a comparison of super smooth melee try Ghost of Tsushima. Very clean, amazing animations, feels like a great melee experience, unlike this clunky pos.

Visuals are amazing, but the combat reminds me of quick action events. Big step back IMO.
In co-op you are supposed well... COOPERATE ( work together) with your team mates, if you are atleast somehow competent you should have no problems at the low dificulties...
PvP is entirely different beast XD

even getting hyped when you get a Extremis spawn in a great wave and handling the situation
get your melee weapons rdy for Tyranids, Extremis, Majoris and another one with for Chaos
also your ranged weapons
i have played vermintide 1+2 and darktide
but Space Marine 2 kicks them all

Basically, make armor stronger or easier to regen, and give us more sustain in combat, and we're good to go.
Even just making contested health last 3-5 seconds instead of 2 would go a long way.
