Combat is not fun.
Combat is really bad. You cant menage hords. Distant enemies will hit you with 100% accuracy from ridiculous distance. Its immposible to fight in mele and avoid all "bullets"
Close combat is really not good, you cant proper fight and avoid damage.
I have 1500h in Vermintide and i know where is my skill issue and where mechanic is bad.
Combat is not fun :(

100% combat is not fun. Seriously thinking about refunding this. Looks great, but combat is definitely not fun. Feels ridiculously hard to stay alive, melee hits feel like there's no feedback or impact, and it seems like you are forced to strictly adhere to the block / execute mechanics so it feels incredibly repetitive AND restricted.

Melee is complex. There are a lot of combos to learn and it's going to take time to work out what you can actually do with it.

Switching from keyboard to controller helped me.

My "Meta Loadout is" Heavy Bolt Rifle and Heavy Bolt Pistol and Thunderhammer its very efficent. Use the Pistol to kill Melee Commanders

People keep forgetting you are playing as 2.4m tall dude in heavy armor. They move slow but hit heavy.

This is warhammer. Astartes are faster than normal humans

Lol, what? "A lot of combos to learn." You're not playing street fighter.

Hold attack
Attack, hold attack.
Attack, attack, hold attack
Attack, attack, attack, hold attack.
Run attack.

Much combo, much wow.

I'm more grossed out with the actual flow. Of the game.

Game rewards for stopping fighting and exploring, breaking tiny crates with inquisitorial I for heals. Guns hidden out of the way round the back of levels.

The combat wants you to move forwards but the game systems want you to stop and look around.
Sure the combat isn't great and the marines feel slower than in the first game (looking at you "sprinting" Titus) but the way the system mesh together is terrible.

SM1 nailed the driving you onwards, the only things hidden were collectables. This game the first melta rifle you encounter is tucked out of the way behind a lift.....what space marine hides weapons behind a lift for hi mates,....

I dont mind the combat system too much, def feel like the guns need more hitting power... also where in the blazes is my flamer? Common with nids I would have figured I'd have some fire to purge these xenos....

I'm not sure if the mechanic is bugged or not.
In the tutorial level it was similar to the first game where I could replenish depleted health with executions provided my armour was maxed out, and no before anyone asks, there was no white bar it was refilling, this was health that was completely gone. After the tutorial level this no longer happens which frankly makes melee combat suicidal also makes me think that Primaris Marines are a complete downgrade Playing on Veteran for those wondering.

The games just bad. The only thing going for it is the visuals, and that’s not enough to justify it. Even the storyline is disappointing. Recommend refunding

They feel slower because those are Primaris - bigger. Look at how much distance you cover when running. But its hard to judge without Guards around

But they still turn around slow. Its not sluggish for me anyway.

Your not supposed to engage from range only. Heck thats the fastest way to wind up a goner.

It took me a little bit to get used to it, but you HAVE to use the melee combos too.
melee is trash in this game. I just went with plasma and las the whole game. Melee weapons just let mobs eat you from every direction.

The combat isn't good, unresponsive, prescriptive and boring after the first hour.

People will gaslight themselves otherwise though WH stans are insufferable.

I kind of agree. Combat "looks" good but feels horrible/

It doesnt feel horrible, the weapons are just underpowered.

Oh for sure. The ranged weapons are an absolute joke.

The parry system doesnt work half the time and the AI companions have a room temp IQ. The combat is not fun.
Skill issue. Parry when u see blue. otherwise its a block. Red then you dodge. simple.

What do you mean "it's a block"? My issue is yea it's obvious to Parry when you see flashing blue ♥♥♥♥ ... But what does LB do when someone attacks and they aren't flashing blue? It's unclear if you can even block other attacks? Can I get perfect parries on NON flashing attacks? If not, that's bad design. Let me parry everything!
