The path is C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\local\Saber\Space Marine 2
And there as I said there is multiple .cfg files everywhere.
But sad thing is when opening with notepad you clearly understand its either an other encoding or encrypted.
Can anyone give us a hand on this? Would really appreciate it.
I'm going to try chaning keys one at a time, making a copy of those configs and try to track down some hex codes or something because I got really pissed off in the melta jetpack sequence button mashing and we need a solution to something this fundamental and I doubt the devs will get be allowed to prioritise it.
What I have so far is not good news. I made several copies of "C:\User\<me>\AppData\local\Saber\Space Marine 2\storage" with default, my own and just one changed control, then ran them through xxd and vimdiff.
The bad news is that every time a key binding is changed many of these files change. What's more, while you can restore a complete copy of that folder, it's impossible to restore any one of those files; if you do, the game's cloud restores it to what it was last time it started successfully and made a backup of them.
While I'm pretty confident that the file with the controls is "platform/config/shared_user_settings.cfg", editing it seems to be impossible. The configs are keyed together to prevent someone copying a fully unlocked account's weapons or something. So if any of the dev team are reading this: it's in your interest to just fix the simple key binding bug, because if someone is trying to crack the game's config encryption just to play it, you can bet it'll uncover ways you don't want them doing other thing to the game.
