Black screen after intro cutscene fix (For me at least)

Like a lot of people I've seen mention in the discussions so far, I was getting a black screen after watching the intro cinematic to starting a new campaign and never loading into first mission. After trying a few things (like verifying file integrity) and attempting to start up again I noticed a Loading Into Server notification with a stalled progress bar when I tried to skip the cinematic.

Long story short, I had to disable my VPN in order for the game to connect to their servers after which I loaded into the first mission right away. At first I tried to add the game onto the Split Tunneling list (which works for a lot of different applications that have issues going through a VPN) but that didn't work, I had to close out of my VPN app all together.

Hopefully this might resolve similar issues with some other folks that might be using a VPN as well. Good luck!

I'm having this similar issue but i don't run a VPN my screen will go to a half gray half black screen with a infinite loading bar at the bottom right once the space marine falls onto the floor at the end of the cutscene into starting a my new campaign i've tried alot to fix it like putting everything on low verifying my files or even running as an administrator along with updating my drives.

Saw another post about this half grey half black issue, its apparantly due to usernames. On first login it uses your steam name and can't handle special characters. If you remove the < from your name it should load in for you April

I posted a fix but I'm tired of copy and pasting from the fix thread. I had it too but I fixed it.

There several different fixes that have apparently worked for different people, none of them are guaranteed to work. But thanks for telling us you Know of one that worked in your case, I guess.

So I also had issues with the cutscenes, despite my system having an RTX and all that, but it mostly worked after setting most of it to low. Now it gets stuck in black screen after the cutscenes, but there is no loading bar, just "signed in as (username)". Tried leaving it for 28 minutes just to see if it was some issue with processing, but still black screen. I don't run VPN either. Very weird bug. I'm I've spent as of now 2 hours just trying to get the game to run lmao.

I've managed to fix the issue but i have to play the game in offline leading me to a new issue causing a black infinite loading screen making it not possible to load online i'll change my username see if that works but other than that EVERY video out there when searching for a fix all consist of: Verify game files Update graphics drivers run game as administer and disable background applications I've done everything these videos say but nothing changes what so ever I've even reinstalled the game
