When you hear the characters voice, you know the change have been done after and not by the developers choice...

How bout you guys whine and moan about the actual problems with the game instead of making up false facts to get offended over?

You're just as bad as the people you're mocking

The black Spacemarines are not the Ultra Marines, they are the Deathwatch

They don't I'm not sure where this myth comes from but it's not true. I think it comes from Youtube.
it comes from 7+ Horus heresy books

We reading the same Horus Heresy books? Because the books I remember reading had the likes of Soukounou (a black RAVEN GUARD), Mkani Kano (in the Blood Angels), and Hastur Sejanus (described as having skin the color of polished cinderwood, and is one of the Sons of Horus, one of the few chapters where the marines actually DO change to look like miniature clones of their Primarch).

The depths of human stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

Ultramarines are the most prominent chapter and have a tendency to take their aspirants from many places, not just their home planet. They also had a time where they took a lot of marines from other factions iirc.

Not a fan of DEI either but in this instance, it's actually lore accurate.
The Ultramarines recruit from the 500 Worlds (The worlds Guiliman conquered prior to meeting the Emperor during the Crusades era).

Ultramarines also have *the* most stable geneseeds & recruit from the 500 Worlds as stated above, therefore their recruits are all pretty diverse.

Their geneseed being the most stable also means there are less chances every Space Marine will end up looking like a Wish version of their Primarch. Most of the time, if the Space Marine isn't of a direct descendant of Macragge, they won't have most of the features their Primarch is known for (Usually just like facial structure but not hair/eyes etc)

The Ultramar system, which the Ultramarines effectively govern has countless worlds they scour recruits from, the idea of there being a world with black candidates for being a Astartes are actually pretty high. Hell many of the Salamanders have hair despite Vulkan being bald, and during the Great Crusade, few if any Thousand Sons during their Loyalist Period ended up turning all Red like Magnus. In a setting where its quite literally that 1 out of a million has even a remote chance to be selected let alone survive becoming a Astartes, Chapters take what they can get in terms of recruits.

Need I explain anymore?

The amount of people on these forums who don't know the lore they're talking about is too damn high.

The geneseed is added to an existing human, who could be of literally any race.

Assuming that the geneseed is not mutated, like the Salamanders or Raven Guard, that new Space Marine will look generally the same as they did when they were human.

To my knowledge, the Ultra Marine geneseed does not have any notable physical mutations, meaning that Ultra Marines will be as diverse as normal humans.

I'm reminded of Sa'kan from the Pariah Nexus animation.

He was Asian but had black skin and red eyes because of the geneseed mutation.

The only "gripe" I can really think of with Sa'kan was that his red eyes were glowing bright red like a Terminator, but that's about it
